Update 2: Escape Hatch

[p][/p][p]Two weeks after launch, our second major update smashes open the emergency exit and escapes onto Steam - adding a whole new way to replay campaigns…[/p][p][/p][p]This was a very popular request from players who wanted to be able to replay campaign maps without knowing exactly where everything is. Thanks to everyone for your feedback and especially those who voted in our development poll so far. [/p][p][/p][p]FYI - the game has now been out for 2 weeks. This is our second major update (+3 smaller patches). We are working at full speed and you can read more about what we are working on at the end of this post.[/p][p]

Escape Hatch

[p]After completing a Campaign level, a new option will open up: the Escape Hatch mode.[/p][p][/p][p]Enabling it lets Survivors use a new exit to leave the bunker! Starting location, terrain and enemies are reshuffled so you don't know exactly what is out there…[/p][p][/p][p]Can you still build a thriving settlement if you emerged on the other side of the region? What if meat was scarce? Or forests far away?[/p][p][/p][p]It's a brand new challenge every time with some special surprises.[/p][p][/p]

  • [p]Added Escape Hatch Mode[/p]
    • [p]Developer note - a player requested feature to improve replayability of the campaign levels[/p]
    • [p]Expeditions will now leave different colour and size icons on the Abandoned Kingdom map to reflect what difficulty they were beaten on.[/p]
      • [p]Developer note: An extra way to reward players for beating expeditions and recognise the difficulty level - the world map becomes a bit like a trophy cabinet![/p]
      • [p]New completed expedition icons added to the pool including special ones for Mega Brutal[/p]
      • [p]The game will now warn you if building housing that will need new Services researched. [/p]
        • [p]Developer note: Another player requested feature so players know if they are in danger of growing too fast and encountering morale issues. This doesn’t apply on Mega Brutal.[/p]

        • [p]Added Difficulty and Region Name to the settlement screen Overview panel[/p]
        • [p]Increased the size of completed Expedition score boxes[/p]
        • [p]Adjusted padding of World Map for different screens[/p]
        • [p]Changed the fitting of ranking stars on level select to better align with text [/p]

        • [p]Fix for camera zoom when selecting a Campaign whilst already having a Level selected[/p]
        • [p]Fixed an issue with 'Growth Spurt' achievement[/p]
        • [p]Fixed levelled building shadows appearing strange[/p]
        • [p]Fixed an issue with initial Reward Points not being earned in Extra Expeditions if you didn’t have existing rewards[/p]
        • [p]Fixed potential reward bug when saving and loading an Expedition[/p]
        What's Next?
        [p]We're hard at work on a brand new campaign Shadows of the Past which adds new game mechanics and a lot more levels. [/p][p]At the same time, we are working on various other features including a control scheme upgrade that lets people use right click to build things in specific areas. More news on all of this soon and we will adjust plans in response to player feedback as always :)[/p][p]
