Our efforts to improve your gaming experience in Assassin's Creed Unity continue, and so do our efforts to keep you informed regarding our progress. To that end we've gathered up some of the most frequent questions we've seen and teamed up with our development team to give you a window into where we are at.

One quick note to be aware of is that issues with connectivity can be difficult to isolate and a wide variety of problems can result in the same thing: you not being able to play online. So while we've broken these questions into some different categories, please keep in mind that the root causes might end up affecting multiple connected features.

I sometimes have difficulty playing co-op. Why can't I connect to my friends' games?



Our efforts to stabilize online co-op for ACU continue. As one of a very short list of top priorities, we've mobilized strike teams for the express purpose of getting you back online and running Heists and Brotherhood Missions with your friends. Since the co-op feature is a key addition to the series, getting this feature back on-track is a major focus of the team here. We hope to have the situation improved with some server-side alterations, but if more substantial fixes are still required we'll need to roll out a patch, and that will take a bit longer to address. As a temporary workaround for Xbox One users, we do recommend that you connect in game before joining a friend in a party. This seems to help in many cases.



I'm having trouble connecting to Ubisoft Servers/Companion App/Initiates and can't get access to my rewards. What's going on?



We just published an update for the Companion App (check here to see what's been updated) so those connectivity issues should be resolved, but occasional connectivity issues with Ubisoft Servers may still cause intermittent outages. Meanwhile, we're still working on getting Initiates to recognize players' past achievements. Teams from both ACU dev and Online Services are working together to stabilize the system overall and hopefully you've already seen some of these improvements and can access your content. We’ll keep at it until connection issues are resolved. Most of the changes don’t actually require a full-blown patch, so you should continue to see regular improvements.



How do I restart the game? What can I do if something has happened to my save game?



Assassin's Creed Unity uses a save system that allows one saved game per platform account, so if you want to restart you would need to either delete your current saved game or open a new platform account. In addition, saved games are stored on cloud storage if it's available so that your saved game is portable and can move from machine to machine alongside your platform account. We have received a few reports of issues with saved game corruption or saved game deletion - if you have experienced anything like this please help our investigation by contacting our Customer Support teams. In the meantime, we're working on putting together information that will better explain how our saved game system operates and how to ensure your saved game files are backed up to minimize the potential impact of a critical error.​



My game doesn't seem to be working right after the most recent patch, what should I do?



This is exactly the kind of thing we are trying to avoid, but even with all of our testing there's no guarantee that everything is going to work perfectly in all instances. Things occasionally happen during the patching process that can throw things out of whack. If you run into a problem after downloading and installing a patch, please notify our Customer Support staff as soon as you can. It might be a rare hiccup that's cleared up with a re-install, or it might be indicative of a larger problem we need to work on right away… so be sure to keep us posted about your experience.



The patch didn't solve the problem I'm having…



Please keep in mind that the most recent patch isn't designed to solve everything, so take a moment to familiarize yourself with the patch notes (available here for PS4, PC and Xbox One). If your issue is not listed, check both the Uplay Twitter and the Ubisoft Support Twitter​ to make sure that account services are up and running.
