Hi Shapers!
I hope you had a lovely holiday season, we’re back and ready to tell you our next steps!
So, you’re probably wondering “What’s next?”. In the next few days, we’ll be releasing a quick patch (0.4.1) to make some minor improvements to our live version. Then, we’ll move on to our next major update, the Community Update! (0.5.0)
We’re working on improving and changing Battle Shapers according to the feedback YOU have been giving us. Your feedback, as well as what our data suggests, will be dictating the next moves we make. While this isn’t significantly different than our other updates in regards to our intent, as we always try to address issues you bring up, it will take longer than our usual update speed. We want to ensure that this update does right by you, and has enough time to seriously fix and test some of the big issues we see frequently showing up in the feedback you give us.
So, with that being said, here are some examples that we can share of what will be straightened out in our Community update:
1.
Improved Weapons - tightening swap speeds for all weapons, reducing reload speed on several of our heavier weapons, and increasing effectiveness and damage on some of our less popular weapons.
2.
New Goodies - A new weapon and ability for your enjoyment!
3.
Improved New Player Experience - We’re seeing players take longer than we’d like to unlock primary boss cores and skip over extremely important talents. To compensate, we’re making it easier to unlock primary cores and adding UI indicators to highlight talents that will have a big impact on gameplay.
4.
Buffing 3rd Person Abilities - Adjusting and scaling damage, and most importantly, adding protection during those 3rd person animations. These abilities require players to undertake a tremendous amount of risk, and we want to make these abilities easier to cast without being punished.
5.
Adding Accessibility - We’ll be adding options for things like auto-fire, as well as improved crosshair visibility.
6.
Track your Runs! - We’ll be adding a run history terminal, which is essentially a menu for you to see the results of previously completed runs. We're also adding a run summary screen for successful runs.
7.
Rebalancing Enemies - We’re looking into changing the balance between damage and the number of hits we expect players to take. We’re improving the way enemy bots track player movement and lead their shots and we’ll be adjusting the damage across most enemies to compensate.
8. A lot more smaller changes that we’re super excited for you to get your hands on.
Now more than ever is the time to swing by and say hello in our
Discord and get to know the community and team of our wonderful game. Again, thank you for making this update possible, and can’t wait to hear what you think!
