Game Update v6.1.0
This major update brings targeted mission balance changes, the new Unit Roster and extensive improvements to combat information, computer-opponent planning and battlefield behaviour.
Mission balance and scenario changes
- Counter-Attack: the enemy front line and camp defenders now activate as intended.
- Lake Trasimene: victory now requires 80% enemy losses, reduced from 90%, while retaining the 90% own-loss limit.
- Munda: Julius Caesar now has greater durability in the protected-leader mission.
- Granicus: victory now requires 60% Persian losses, reduced from 70%, alongside the defeat of Memnon.
New Unit Roster
Explore the armies of the ancient world in the new Unit Roster, with organised categories and unit portraits.
Gameplay and interface improvements
- Improved computer-opponent mission planning, objective selection and force coordination.
- Redesigned combat analysis with inline attacker and defender tables, modifier totals and success summaries.
- Modernised Settings with consistent General, Mouse, Keyboard and Display tabs.
- Added cleaner rounded tooltips with a simple line border.
- Units can now change formation correctly around unattached generals and artillery batteries.
- Artillery batteries now join infantry units correctly.
- Generals arriving as reinforcements now retain their leadership abilities.
- Movement and attack highlights now appear correctly.
- Reduced memory use when loading unit animations and map graphics.
- Improved stability when leaving a battle or quitting the game.
