As the new mission Military Airfield was released this tuesday, I want to give you a first look into the upcoming feature update.
What is the difference between a feature update and a content update?
A feature update improves existing features and extends them, tweaks bugs and enhances the overall gameplay. While content updates introduce entirely new content like new missions.
What will be improved with the next update?
Trainyard improvements:
The Singlemission Trainyard was the first mission ever created for Beyond Enemy Lines. Even if it's a legacy mission the age and some failures in the layout are noticeable. With it's close quater set up and limited routs, Trainyard does not fit perfectly into the mission structure of Beyond Enemy Lines. To accomplish a new and better feeling, the Trainyard gets a small extension to open more routes and possibilities.
Light improvements:
On almost all Missions the light and shadow casting get's a slightly overhaul to improve the shadow distance and enhance the atmospherical effects.
Full Controller Support:
As of now, Beyond Enemy Lines provides partly controller support. With the upcoming feature update Beyond Enemy Lines can be completly played with a controller and all menus will becontrollable with a gamepad or the keyboard (Settings menu is an exception, this still needs a mouse).
New Text-Message-System:
A new Text-Message-System will be integrated and supports translated text. The update will ship with english language only, so at first there will be no visible change for you, but the full language support will be added later.
Bug Fixes:
This update will come with over 100 Bug fixes and smaller improvements.
