Weekly patch notes, some fixes + quality of life
Reki here. A pretty light update this week since the perk system is still being worked on. It should be pretty cool, you can do stuff like create undead from the bones of your enemies, summon crab lords, chain enemies to yourself and drag them away. Still thinking hard on how to best teach the game's combat, as it seems to confuse many. A new tutorial section and many hints scattered through the world are likely. Controller button rebinding as well. For now, just some fixes and quality of life stuff. Last update was really buggy in part because I used a different compiler. I hoped it would increase cpu performance, but the new compiler was just extremely broken, somehow doing things like making the game use old, long gone code. So, it's back to the original one. I hope the difference in performance is not noticeable on most systems. Anyways, here's this week's stuff:
- Added volume control to pause menu.
- Numbers for player health, armor, and ammo now appear whenever those values change.
- Monster health number appears after they are hit.
- Gunner mode is now toggled.
- Gunner now always centers above player when shooting.
- Player is now invincible for few moments after teleporting or dying.
- Coin boxes now only receive coins when hit with a melee weapon.
- Undead Shrines are no longer items.
- Fixed a freeze involving dealing damage to certain creatures.
- Fixed spore clouds in Skungus Wilds expanding forever.
- Stopped living wall from dropping a tail.
- Creslugs no longer move backwards.
