[p]While the game gets regular updates that are downloaded directly into the Steam client, the game's Steam client generally doesn't need to get updated builds. However, this game client hasn't been updated in quite some time due to various technical challenges (and the fact that it hasn't been all that necessary for most updates).[/p][p]It was a bit of an adventure on it's own to re-build and modernize the game client for Steam, but we're excited to announce that this work is complete and the update is available now. This update isn't about in-game features (again, those are downloaded directly inside the application when launching the game), but it's an important update for all of our Steam players:[/p]

• [p]Vastly newer rendering engine that provides performance and stability improvements.[/p]
• [p]Improved cache handling for faster startup when launching the game (only after the first launch after updating).[/p]
• [p]Your login details are now remembered so that you don't have to login again each time you launch the game in Steam.[/p]
• [p]Emojis and non-standard characters commonly used for crew names now work on Linux and Steam Deck.[/p]
• [p]Copy/paste should now work everywhere like it would in a browser.[/p]
• [p]Various other minor bug fixes and enhancements.[/p]
