Demo Update 2 - Major Update

[p]I am pleased to announce a major update to the Cendovia Uprising Demo. We’ve made a significant overhaul of the game this summer in response to user feedback. Users were finding the game too confusing. I recognize that the game was not providing good guidance to the players and the tip system was very clumsy. So we replaced the tip system with a Training Mode containing interactive tutorial lessons. Here are some of the highlights.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Get to the Gameplay Faster - The original demo provided a slice of campaign mode. But that resulted in many clicks before users could begin combat. The new demo has practice battles you can play at any time to experience Cendovian combat quickly.[/p]
  • [p]Tutorial Lessons - The new Training Mode provides interactive lessons that make it much easier to learn the game.[/p]
  • [p]Practice Battles - Training Mode also provides 3 practices with pre-configured decks to get a taste of Cendovian combat.[/p]
  • [p]UI Enhancement - The user interface has been simplified to enhance ease of use.[/p]
  • [p]Performance Improvement - Cendovia Uprising now runs much more smoothly on lower end hardware.[/p]
  • [p]Balance - Extensive playtesting this summer along with user feedback led us to modify rules and stats to improve the balance and make the game more fun. There are too many such changes to list here, but you can learn more about these in the Training Mode lessons or in the rules section within the game.[/p]
  • [p]Streamlining - We removed rules that were no longer adding value to simplify the game. Cendovia Uprising still has plenty of mechanical depth which allows for a variety of strategies. However, as the game has evolved in development, some rules were no longer serving their intended purpose so these were purged. Terrain effects in particular have been greatly simplified to be much more intuitive.[/p]
[p][/p][p]There is still more work to be done. In particular, the story telling needs work, as many have pointed out. My first attempt at writing a cutscene missed the mark and this will be revisited as will all the storytelling in campaign mode. The new demo now only includes training mode, so you will not experience any story in the new demo. But know that we are working on revisions and will share these for feedback once available.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Thank you to everyone who provided feedback as this greatly helps us to enhance the game. Please let us know how you like the changes.[/p][p]
