Prohibition Encyclopedia Update & future plans

Hi everyone, we wanted to give one last update for the year, and talk a bit about what’s coming up in 2022!

Prohibition encyclopedia update

The in-game Prohibition encyclopedia is a great tool for learning all about the systems, resources, operations and skills that you’ll discover while running your outfit. We’ve now expanded it further to include:

Weapons - A full list of the weapons that you can acquire including stats and costs.

Region specific resources & operations - You can now learn more about bootlegging opportunities specific to each of the city maps.

Crew skills - An updated list of all the crew skills that can be learned in the game, including those that relate to gambling houses and their associated activities.

Gambling houses - A breakdown of the possible gambling house operations that you can set up, including Atlantic City’s casinos.

Operation expansions and gambling features - An overview of possible expansions and gambling house features, so you can plan in advance how to improve your operations.

Looking ahead

Since the Gambling & Debt update released last month, we’ve been working on the next major feature, and it’s progressing very nicely. Not to spoil too much, but we’ve been noticing that a lot of you, our players, have been asking about better crew organization: how it would be interesting for your crew to progress beyond captain status, and gain access to some new criminal schemes as you take over the city.

Well, if you were asking about some of those things, we’ll have some good news for you in the new year! But - that’s all we can say right at this very moment. Stay tuned for this and a couple of other surprises in the next major update, planned for early 2022! :)

Also - if you haven’t joined us on Discord, everyone is invited! If you’ve got questions about gameplay, found a bug, have a suggestion for a future update, want to talk strategy or just hang out with some fellow players, we’ve got a great, active community over there.

So with that, we’d like to thank you all for your support of City of Gangsters during its first year - from betas to demos to release day and beyond. Without your feedback from your many (and for some very many) hours of play, the game would not have become what it is now and we would not have the inspiration to carry it to even greater heights in the coming year. Truly, sincerely, thank you.

Happy Holidays all, and see you in the New Year!
