Finally!
We are proud to announce that CONSORTIUM is finally ready and available for the world to experience.
Of course we will be continuing to support the game with updates and patches. Here are our release notes for v1.0:
————————-
KNOWN ISSUES
————————-
If you are experiencing a bad frame rate, try this: In the front end, click VIDEO, ADVANCED VIDEO, change "Wait for Vertical Sync" to "Disabled".
- 32 bit machines: If you are running CONSORTIUM on a 32 bit operating system, you MAY experience occasional crashes. We recently made fixes to prevent excessive crashing, and you SHOULD be able to complete a play through without a crash, but depending on your exact set-up this can vary. We are working on a more solid solution in a future patch. Loading any save game will allow you to continue on without a problem.
- Changing video settings/resolution while playing: We disabled this ability for now. For now, you must configure all your video settings while in the front end, before starting your game. We will fix this in a patch.
- Minor bugs and glitches: We have done everything in our power (and then some) to ensure that the game is clear of all major bugs and issues. This being said, we know there are still minor issues present. Will be fixed in future patches. Please let us know of any issues you find to support@interdimensionalgames.com . In any email bug report, include BUGS in the subject.
- Save games: We are using the Source Engine, and so have the same save game system as games like Portal 2, Half-Life 2, etc uses. This means that if any changes are made to the "maps", save-games made in those maps will very likely become invalidated. While we have done everything to ensure our maps are extremely stable and bug free, it IS inevitable that issues will be found that will require changes to the maps.
Our plan, unless something truly game-breaking is discovered, is to release a major patch to the game at the end of January. This will include fixes to all maps, and hopefully fixes to all issues found by gamers. What this means, is that when this patch is released, all on-going save games will become invalidated. However, any games that you have COMPLETED will remain valid for use in importing into Game Two.
We will be sure to let everyone know well ahead of time before this update will happen.

FUTURE SUPPORT
—————————-
- Localization: We want to localize Consortium to as many languages as possible. Spanish is first. German, French, Russian, Portuguese are next, not necessarily in that order. If you want Consortium in a particular language, let us know by posting in the community HUB!
- Game balancing: Once thousands of new gamers are playing the game, we expect to see a lot of discussion on game difficulty, weapon balance, etc.
Based on all this feedback, we fully expect to release balancing updates to improve the feel of combat and other mechanics.
- HUD and Flash improvements: Usability improvements to the HUD and flash screens is on the list. Watch for those in an update soon!
- Oculus Rift support: We are working on this! We have a dev kit and are very excited about how Consortium will play with the Rift…watch for this over
the next few months!
- Xbox Controller: We ALMOST have controller support working. We encoutered a problem very recently, however, and had to yank official support for this. We will get this in very soon.
- Steam Controller: This will also be supported soon as well.
- Linux & Mac: We ARE planning on porting our experience to Linux and Mac. The main hurdle is that we need to port our shaders to those platforms. This is doable, and we are aiming to get them up sometime before mid 2014.
That's it for now! We hope you enjoy the ride…
