First Major Update

During the end of may, we finally released a demo for our upcoming game on Steam - Craft in Abyss. Now, after two weeks or so later, we'll be bringing you the first major update.

1. Visual Renderings

We put a bit of a twist on the visual effects, so that it would give off a feeling of refraction underwater. What's more, we also tried to use more realistic lighting and coloring. Additionally, since it's harder to see underwater, and we're worried that our original choice of coloring would cause visual clarity issues, we swapped our palette around a little, while it may seem less like it is underwater, we believe that clarify should still be prioritized. Hopefully, you guys are now able to see every little detail on your screens now.

2. Game Pacing

Actions are now automatically used whenever they are off cooldown. Players will no longer have to click on each action to use them.
From the feedback we've received, it seems like the base-building fans out there weren't really looking for tense fights that required them to concentrate too much on the battle.

3. Interface

Motion UI design is often found in games nowadays, but that's something we don't have… yet. We'll continue on work on it and improve the UI's fluidity.

We added a drag and drop system to the interface as you can see above. The new component creation process will be utilizing this new interface. The special properties and effects that the different materials have are also clearly visible at the bottom, so hopefully, it'll help players understand what kind of component will be synthesized.

We also implemented symbols for the some of the stages to show the special ones. In the gif above, it is a Wreckage Stage, where players will be able to salvage a wreckage in order to obtain resources. Some of the other special stages are Shop stages, Laboratory stages etc.

4. Tutorial

We added a lot of "I" symbols in the new patch. You can now hover over them in order to understand what the current interface you are on is for.
