Beside to 'verifying the content' of the game, you could try:

1. From "Properties/ Browse Local Files" to find the installation directory.
2. Then select the execution file, right-click it and select properties/compatibility tab.
3. Then select the checkbox to run in it in Windows 7 compatible mode.
