So as most of you are probably aware of, Crush Penguin has had some installation issues on Steam regarding the executable file missing. I've spent a large amount of free time trying to fix this issue, discussing things with my co-developers, and going back and forth with Steam support.

With my patience running thin, on 17/9 I announced that I would release the game for free on GameJolt and remove it from Steam. This was met with… shall we say, disappointment from the playerbase.

And this disappointment was 100% justified. It wasn't fair to people who have bought/supported the game here on Steam since day one. So for that, I sincerely apologize. I hope that this shortsighted/irrational decision will not be what Crew Penguin is remembered for. As of right now, I have delisted the game from GameJolt and it will be down for the foreseeable future.

Thanks to the help from some very dedicated fans, That1Blokkhead, Muffins, and Static, I am able to offer a patch that allows you to run the game on Steam and unlock achievements.

Please follow this simple guide for installing the patch:

Step 1. Locate "Crush Penguin" in the Steam library. It is better to do this without it being installed, or else it will require Steam to be restarted.

Step 2. Download the patch.
The patch can be installed here: https://canary.city/~staticfanfare/files/crushpenguin.zip
Clicking this link will lead to a direct download to the executable file, along with all of the assets of Crush Penguin. This is a private website hosted by Static and I thank them for hosting the game for now! Eventually, I will offer an updated version of the game on our personal website.

Step 3. Extract the files. You should end up with one folder called "CrushPenguin-win"

Step 4. Back on Steam now, right click on "Crush Penguin" and then click on "Browse local files".

Step 5. Simply copy/paste the patch into the folder that opens. Replace anything if prompted.

There are some known anomalies associated with this patch. Upon starting, all achievements (minus the secret ending) will be unlocked. Additionally, all of the in-game Extras (minus the rehab one) will also be unlocked. Once we begin hosting the patch on our website, these small glitches will be fixed.

If anyone needs assistance with downloading the patch, getting the game to work, or wants a refund, please do not hesitate to comment on this update. I DEEPLY apologize for taking so long to make an official statement.

Crush Penguin will live on to see another day and we plan on releasing lots of new material for free right here on Steam. We have a large amount of new artwork and story ideas in the making right now.
