Just in time for the Tower Defense Fest! What a time to be alive! lol
Here's some new stuff that was added to the game last-minute!
We have a new little toggle button when you're clicked on a unit that will show its stats and resistances! One of the biggest flaws of Dice Goblin's Den throughout beta testing/the demo is that it didn't do a very good job of communicating information to the player beyond very general snippets like, "DEX increases attack speed, damage reduction, and crit chance", but nobody ever knew by how much these stats were affected! Yet, some other players also felt overwhelmed with how much information was already in the game. So I went with the best middle-ground I could think of, by adding this toggle button so that anyone who wishes to delve deeper into understanding attributes and stats can now do so, while everyone who wishes to have less information shoved down their throats can just ignore it! Everbody wins!
That brings us to the second big update for this patch: Hovering over the attributes when clicked on a goblin unit will now show the player exactly what stats will be provided by upgrading their attributes, and also by how much! This includes dynamic changes in the tooltips to account for Primary Attribute bonuses as well, which previously people just had no way of checking, and no idea what it would specifically provide!
And lastly, if you hover over Buff or Debuff icons floating above characters' heads, you'll also see a small tooltip on what those do as well![/p]
I'm super happy with all of these last-minute changes!
[p]The game is in a really solid spot now, and I'm proud of what it has become. I'm looking forward to pushing updates for this game over the following year, while prototyping ideas for my next game! Adding new classes to play as, enemy units, goblin units, enemy party leaders to face off against, and levels is going to be a delight! I'm just so relieved that the hardest parts are now all behind me, lol.[/p][p][/p][p]It's almost 7am and I haven't slept much. I'm a stay-at-home, work-from-home dad, so it's almost time for me to "start" my day and hang out with my kids while having droopy eyes and coffee-breath. What genius came up with the idea of releasing this game at 3am??? lol.
I hope you guys like my game! I hope you like the silly dialogue, cute little goblins and giant toads, epic loot, soundtrack, replayability, etc. There's been some big releases to compete with in the Roguelite world, but hopefully the Tower Defense fans will carry my onwards and upwards! And what better time than on the first day of Tower Defense Fest?
I'm honored and flattered by every single person who chooses to spend some time playing my game when there's a whole world of infinite content to consume out there. You guys honor me more than you'll ever know!
