Regular Update; v.1.21

A selection of little improvements while I've been working on implementing an events system which should start to appear in a week or less (albeit with very few events to start with).

Gameplay and Balancing

  • ‘Management’ difficulty level now also affects training speed.
  • Using a perk to improve an attribute now improves the ‘trained’ level of the attribute rather than the base level, so that the gain can be seen more easily as part of the (+#) on training gain view.
  • Capped maximum salaries and reduced top level citizen and veteran salaries
  • Increased citizen and veteran fees slightly
  • Reduced criminal potential (and therefore current) ability by around half a star across the board to reduce reliance (by player and AI) on cheap criminal fighters.
  • Reduced generation frequency of criminals in division 1 by 50% to stratify that division properly as an elite league with elite fighters (most div 1 teams are also arguably too wealthy in the long run so this will also redress that).

UI and Presentation

  • Changed difficulty label to say ‘Management’ instead of ‘economy / recruitment’.
  • Replaced leadership with stamina in ‘S’ card front view. I am told, and have experienced, that stamina is more useful to be able to quickly see.
  • Progressed French Translation a little further.
  • Added a handful of new (ancient world) team names that might come up in ‘Totally Random’ game theme mode.
  • Optimised initial loading somewhat so the main menu should now load slightly faster on starting up the game.

Fixes

  • Prevented Barbarians, Defenders and Retarii from getting the ‘Forearm Slash’ perk – just doesn’t feel thematically right (does not affect existing fighters).
  • Fixed a bug with the Disarm perk.
