Development continues apace with a new training intensity feature this week, along with new relationships and various other minor improvements!
New Features / Gameplay- Added a new training feature: intensity!
- Intensity can be set in the barracks screen by the dropdown next to the ‘focus’ option.
- ‘Easy’ training will result in roughly 25% less frequent gains; ‘hard’ will result in roughly 25% more frequent gains.
- ‘Easy’ training will result in roughly 25% better condition recovery, so fighters should stay in good condition more easily when on easy training. ‘Hard’ training will result in 25% worse condition recovery, extending into the negative, so fighters with a poor ‘Recovery’ attribute are likely to degrade condition on hard training even when not fighting. The Recovery attribute is therefore much more important for long term training – which is appropriate given that it is usually higher in younger fighters.
- Mood can also be affected by training intensity. A fighter with high work ethic may get a slight mood boost from ‘Hard’ intensity, and may lose mood from ‘Easy’ intensity. A fighter with low work ethic will experience the opposite.
- Added a relatively rare relationship event that can transform enemies into friends or vice versa. Always can turn best friends into bitter rivals and vice versa.
- New relationship type: ‘Bitter Rivals’. Can develop by random event from ‘Enemies’ in rare cases. Double ‘enemy’ nerfs for fighting alongside the rival, double morale penalties (and boosts when rival is killed or sacked) and double greed penalties for remaining on the same team.
- Considerably increased the probability of relationships developing from one stage to another across the board – they were too vanishingly small before. So more best friends, blood brothers, performance trainers and bitter rivals should now begin to appear.
- Added another rare random event (no spoilers).
Bug Fixes / UI Improvements- Fixed and reinstated season summary and golden boot awards for end of season. There was a bug for a couple of days causing end of season crashes that is now fixed.
- Fixed the sparring partner / friends event choice so that the buttons now link up correctly with the outcome.
- The ‘continue’ button no longer changes to ‘Fight over’ until after the final turn’s animations have completed – so the spoiler effect is fixed.
- Found and fixed a minor bug that could conceivably explain and deal with the mysterious ‘week 10’ crash.
- Added a week 12 tutorial pop-up to explain Mood and Condition
