Goblin Camp
Goblin Camp 0.42.0
Version Date
Feb. 6, 2025
Patch Notes
v0.42.0 - Earth Update patch notes
Feature highlights
- Work areas. Goblins no longer fell trees or harvest flora from anywhere on the map that they can access. Instead they will only work in areas that are considered part of the camp due to proximity to the gateway rock or sacrificial tree, or in areas that are near active raven statues.
Areas around raven statues are marked as work areas. Work areas do not spread through walls to allow you to prevent goblins from venturing outside into dangerous areas, and raven statues can be disabled as needed if you want to clear forest-cover but not have goblins go too far for resources.
Enemies will also only be engaged within work areas, which will allow for better defensive building.
- Adjustment to forest-cover. Forest-cover is now denser than before, goblins will no longer be able to simply cut their way through. Use raven statues, fire and spells to clear it.
- New weapon and armor crafting buildings. These allow you to make weapons and armor from dwarven metal and iron.
- New building: Charcoal Clamp. Charcoal is required for forging iron items.
- New map feature: Rock faces. Rock faces can be quarried for stone, which is required for higher tier workshops, sturdier walls and more stylish roads.
- New map feature: Bogs. Bogs are a source of bog iron.
- New resource chain: Iron. Gather bog iron from bogs, dry it in a stockpile, roast it, smelt it, work it and finally forge new highly effective tools, weapons and armor from it.
- New building: Grave. Give your dead goblins a proper burial.
- New ranged weapon: Bow and arrows.
- Stockpiles can now be reduced and expanded as needed.
Notable changes
- Optimized map scrolling. No more hitching when you scroll to new areas of the map for the first time.
- Improved seed milling efficiency to keep up with production in larger camps.
- Improved pathfinding performance for large camps.
- Limit number of consecutive invasions.
- Improved startup time.
- Many small optimizations here and there, particularly to improve performance of larger camps.
- Sacrifice items can now be clicked in the sacrifice window.
- Water simulation is now run in parallel. This increases performance substantially and so the
simulation speed setting is no longer relevant. Water will now always move at the correct speed even on
huge maps.
- A backup of the last autosave is made before making a new one. This acts mostly as a backup in case something fails while writing the new save.
- Better save names for autosaves.
- Larger pool of goblin names.
Fixes
- Fixed missing sound effect for some invasion events.
- Unreachable sleepy goblins no longer attempt to build improvised lean-tos over and over.
- Fixed bug that could cause an incorrect number of turnips to be harvested if a farm plot's size was reduced.
- Fixed case where the recipes shown in the stock manager did not match the selected item.
- Fixed case where the log window would be empty even though messages exist.
