1.2.0 Setting the Scene

As always, we wish to thank you all for being a part of our development process. Your feedback and bug reports are invaluable and are helping shape the direction of the game.

Today we're presenting a new way for all goblins to play the game. We would like to introduce you to the scenarios update, one of the main and big features that we have been working on for the last couple of weeks.

This update introduces Scenarios, providing players with structured gameplay experiences beyond the traditional sandbox mode. Scenarios feature unique world modifiers and gameplay options, with differing bundles of starting resources to aid players. Additionally, new world generation options offer more resource constraints for a tighter challenge.

Biomes have been adjusted to be more unique, affecting elements like cold, firewood consumption, and chances of fire spread.

Features 📝

  • Added Scenarios to the game that the player can choose to play through instead of the endless sandbox.
  • Scenarios can have different world modifiers such as longer nights and winters and other gameplay options active per scenario.
  • Added new world generation options for pure random playthroughs with higher resource restrictions.
  • Biomes now actively have different effects such as more effect of cold in mountain biomes for higher chance of freezing goblins higher firewood consumption, and more chances of fire spreading in grassland biomes.

Balancing ⚖️

  • Curses no longer kill goblins but instead reduce their movement speed.
  • Goblins now generally live longer lives before old age begins.
  • Added new bundles of starting resources for each new scenario.

Sound 🔈

  • New audio for the scenario selection screen.
  • Fix for village ambiance in the evening time.

UI 💻

  • Notifications have been reduced in many cases with updates to the call-to-action redirects.
  • New UI for Scenario completion and progress screens.

Bug Fixes 🛠️

  • Reduced the amount of Depth of Field on the create habitat screen as some users didn’t like it.
  • Story moments will no longer happen while there are enemies attacking.
  • Fix for a crash when canceling the placement of one of the faction halls.
  • Fix for trek zones sometimes being non-selectable.
