Goofy Gorillas 2.31 - After Hours: Part II

Halloween has now been and gone… With 4 new magic spells and an easter egg puzzle that caused a collective meltdown within the community, the 2.3 update was pretty fun, but it was missing a pivotal addition that would have been perfect for the spooky season. Fortunately, many players really enjoy the creepy feel of Goofy with Infector: After Hours, even before and after the spooky season, so to continue on that trend, this update now adds Tag: After Hours to the current roster of gamemodes!

More After Hours…
Tag: After Hours will have the same rules as Tag, You're It, but the map will be plunged into darkness. The Flashlights are out for this gamemode and the original items are back!

Each player will have a glowstick with a unique colour that's attached to their belt. The glowstick will always be on, so you won't be able to depend on the darkness too much, so keep moving!

As a standard rule for After Hours, nametags and banana peel indicators will not be visible, so always be careful who and which banana peels you trust…

Achievements are now live on Steam!
Achievements have been in the game for a while now, but now they are finally on Steam! Some of the achievements have been renamed, some of the requirements have been made a little less grindy and an achievement from 1.0 has returned…

Upon entering a multiplayer or a solo session, you'll begin to unlock achievements based on the current progress you've already made. From there, achievements will unlock as you play the game as normal.

All of the achievements will grant players large chunks of Goofy Points, so if you want to shoot through the lower ranks, these achievements can be a great way to do that!

The Inflatable Hammers Have Been Reinflated!
To originally make the Inflatable Hammer more interesting, I added a knockback while dealing good damage at the time, however since it ruined the flow of chases, the knockback was made significantly weaker, so it then just became a good damage item. Currently there are many more items in the game that are just simply more effective in every way than the Inflatable Hammer, so a rework was needed.

Out with the RNG damage system and in with the momentum-based damage system. Your damage with the hammer heavily depends on how fast you are going, but try to keep your socks on the ground because being airborne will add a penalty to the damage you'll be putting out!

Other Notes
- Players can now select their microphone input and boost their voice volume in the Audio/Voice settings.

- Changed the Other's Voice volume slider's cap to 100, down from 300. Anything above 100 doesn't work with the new proximity chat method being used.

- Added a new warning message that appears in the Options menu to remind players to apply the new settings before going back.

- The Hold Sprint option has been added to the general options.

- The Goofy Zone in the Original jungle gym has received an ambience uplift.

- Removed banana peel damage from Tag and Tag: After Hours, they now just make players slip in these modes.

- Health pickups have been buffed.

- Added a button to jump to the Enabled Items section in the Game Settings.

- The Plasma Strike shock should now hit players more reliably.

- The delay that prevents players from sprinting after they have stopped sprinting has been halved. Sprinting should feel more consistent as a result.

- The Gravity arcade game now has a small and simple rules screen before the game begins, as many players were unaware of the extra points/lives pickups.

- The Dark Magic black hole no longer affects players on the same team as the player that cast the spell.

- Fixed an issue where the basketball and bowling ball wouldn't be removed from players if the gamemode ends.

- Fixed an issue with the character editor where the menu wouldn't jump straight to the highlighted option after switching sub-menus.

- Added a permanent slippery surface, similar to Goofy 1.0's spilled paint bucket area. (It deals damage during gamemodes, so be careful!)

- Fixed an issue with the bowling lighting sometimes being visible on the floor above.

- Every player's rank is now displayed next to their name on their overhead nametag.

- Deathmatch now has visible nametags enabled by default.
