[p]Hello Guardians![/p][p] A new free update for Guardians Frontline is now officially live![/p][p][/p][p]NEW: Drivable Mech Tech, Mech Stomp:[/p][p]A new upgrade has been added to the Drivable Mech![/p][p]- Once researched, the mech will now deal damage by stomping over enemies as it moves.[/p][p]NEW: Utility Belt Tech:[/p][p]Introducing the Utility Belt, designed to hold Keys and Mind Grenades during your missions.[/p][p] - The belt features 2 slots.[/p][p]- Unlock the first slot by researching the first tech![/p][p]- Unlock the second slot with an additional research upgrade![/p][p][/p][p]The belt allows for quick access without taking up weapon or gear slots.[/p][p][/p][p]NEW: Tag System[/p][p]With this update, we’re introducing a brand-new Tag System to help players better identify and explore maps. Tags come in two types: player-selected and server-assigned.[/p][p]
Player-Selected Tags[/p][p]These can be chosen by map makers when publishing their maps:[/p][p][/p][p]- Character: For creative maps featuring detailed sculptures or references to popular characters.[/p][p]- 4 Players Map: Highlights maps designed specifically for 4 player teams.[/p][p]- Beginner Map: Welcomes new players with friendly, accessible maps to help them learn and progress.[/p][p]- Dark Content: Used to indicate maps that feature mature or sensitive themes so players can decide if it’s for them.[/p][p][/p][p]Server-Automated Tags[/p][p]These are applied automatically based on map data: [/p][p]- Classic: Given to older maps from 2021 and 2022 that haven’t been updated in a while, preserving their legacy. [/p][p]- Extra Difficult: Based on win rate data, alerts players when a map presents an especially tough challenge. The win ratio must be lower than 25%. [/p][p]In the search section you can also filter maps by tag.[/p][p][/p][p]NEW: Create/Join Game Info[/p][p]You asked, we delivered! This update brings more transparency and useful information to both the Create Game and Join Game screens.[/p][p]
Map List Enhancements[/p][p]Each map now displays its assigned tag, helping players quickly identify the content type. Additionally, a green checkmark icon will appear in the bottom-left corner of the map tile if you’ve already played it, this progress is tracked and saved per map.[/p][p]Create Game Improvements[/p][p]When selecting a map to host a game, you’ll now see extra information to help you decide: the average completion time, win ratio, tag, and whether you’ve already played that map.[/p][p]Join Game Info Screen[/p][p]Clicking on an open game now brings up a detailed preview showing the game mode, difficulty, win rate, planet, average game time (when available), current match time, number of players, list of player names, and tag. A green checkmark also appears if you’ve previously played that map.[/p][p]
These additions aim to improve your matchmaking experience and help you choose the right mission with the right crew! [/p][p][/p][p]Mind grenade Balance:[/p][p]We've adjusted the Mind Grenade to better align with gameplay balance and reduce overuse in certain scenarios.[/p][p] - Effect Duration Reduced:[/p][p] - Base: 60 to 45 seconds[/p][p] - Tech 1: 120 to 90 seconds[/p][p] - Tech 2: 240 to 120 seconds[/p][p] - If the target is already affected by a stun effect (e.g., from the AK2), the mind control duration is halved.[/p][p] - Base build cost is now 500 crystals with a 30 second craft time.[/p][p] - Players can hold a maximum of 2 grenades. A third cannot be crafted until at least one is used.[/p][p] - Each grenade crafted increases the cost of the next by 50% of the base cost, up to a maximum of 1,500 crystals and 90 seconds.[/p][p] - These rules apply per player, not globally. [/p][p][/p][p]NEW: Diamond Map Reward:[/p][p]We recognize that creating a map worthy of Diamond status takes time, effort, and a great deal of creativity. To show our appreciation, we’re introducing a reward system for map makers who reach this milestone.[/p][p]Each time one of your maps reaches Diamond, you’ll earn a base 20,000 XP, multiplied by the total number of Diamond maps you’ve created so far.[/p][p]For example, if you already have 10 Diamond maps, and your 11th map reaches Diamond, you’ll receive 20,000 × 10 = 200,000 XP as a reward for that new Diamond map.[/p][p]***NOTE***: During the following days the XP for published maps before the Update will be given retoactively[/p][p]
Thank you for your incredible contributions, keep those amazing maps coming![/p][p][/p][p]Major Stability Improvements:[/p][p]In this update, we’ve placed a major focus on improving stability, tackling the most critical issues affecting gameplay.
