Patch Notes

v1.13 is live!

This fixes… a lot of things, but mostly it adds a lot of subtle and not-so-subtle hints, re-directors and context-adders meant to help folks not get lost.

Switches now generally have signage of some kind if they're critical, for instance, and the doors or whatever they interact with are marked with similar signage. We added a bunch of additional "reveal" cameras that fire off to show you what switches do, and arranged those cameras so that you can always see some contextual clues to tell you what door just opened.

The single biggest change is in Hi-Table. It is now (almost) impossible to leave Hi-Table, after you pick up the <ammo type> at least, without going through the upper offices and meeting the <important person> that some folks missed. Even if you do manage to leave early, a few key conversations will stop assuming <someone is in jail>, which will hopefully reduce confusion.

Finally, we tried to make it more obvious what different ammo types could do. Clues now fire off when you pick up ammo, so that you can refer back to what an ammo type does later, and those clues even let you ask Franky about them again in case you button-mashed through her explanation. Some Franky dialogs are also now a little more overt, and we made the Franky hint in Ossified Egg when you go back the second time effectively impossible to miss.

Oh, and it's now (very) possible to beat the game without ever doing the final Clue sweep to <get that warrant and do the thing>. It was technically possible before, but not easy - now there's a much easier way, which Mazuma sells, assuming you've bought both wallet upgrades. You won't get a bad ending at all (there's 14 different end states, none are bad), and hopefully that'll help the folks that just don't want to do a big hunt at that point.

We'll be rolling from here onto our first little content update. It won't be anything huge, mind, but it should hit around March 16th and adds a fun bit of narrative to the world. It involves Jooseppi, and loops in a few of the other lesser-used characters as well.

Linux People With Achievement Problems: No, this probably won't fix that bug. That's going to require, most likely, updating Steamworks, which we'll do in the next patch.
