Hello fellow Jurors!
Firstly, I would like to thank each one of you for purchasing Jury. I really cannot tell you how much it means to me that it's achieved the sales figures it has - Something I really didn't expect.
I'd also like to acknowledge that you guys/girls have had to put up with multiple errors which have crashed you to the home screen, missing images, spelling/grammar issues, looping events etc. There is no real excuse for this other than 'lack of experience' on my part. This is my first game, and quite clearly, I didn't organize my testing as well as I should have done. For that, you have my most sincere of apologies.
On the other hand, the sales figures, along with the support and understanding of the community have almost provided a 'proof of concept' - essentially, the 'go-ahead' to throw myself headfirst into developing this with a little more 'purpose' than I had previously.
What have I learned from this first release?
- Create a true test plan (As I continue developing, write the test script as I go to ensure that all paths both in and out of scenes have endpoints).
- Spellcheck! (I honestly did not realise just how terrible my spelling and grammar was prior to this release. In hindsight, I think I need to go back to school!).
- How much this project means to me (This project has been part of my life for a little while now, mostly as a hobby, but I didn't think I'd get attached to it as much as I have done. I'm really quite proud of what I have created, and it brings me a lot of joy when I see positive comments).
What does this mean for the future of Jury and what does the near future look like?
- Urgent: Fix outstanding items (Aimee in the gym loop issue, missing images, any other reported bugs that are reported or discovered).
- Gather feedback from reviews and by reaching out to players both on steam and in discord (At the end of the day, this game is only as successful if YOU are enjoying the content. For this game to grow, it's important I learn from both the positive and negative feedback and show that I'm listening demonstrating that in future releases).
- Finish planning the next episode (Not too much left to do on that).
- Use revenue from Episode 1 to speed up the production process (See image below to see what Alice is researching for me).
Ultimately, I'd like to re-iterate my thanks to you all for supporting my game, and I will do my very best to create one of the top contending AVN's anywhere on the planet!
I will start to sort out my discord properly this week, which will feature a dev-blog, defect reporting and when production gets underway, I'll start adding in sneak peaks into future content!
Much gratitude as always,
Nickle3DArt
