Katanaut: Progress Update and Community Thanks

Hey Nauts,

I wanted to take a moment to share an update on Katanaut and where things stand right now. It’s been a couple of months since Steam Next Fest, and in that time, I’ve been blown away by the amazing amount of feedback you’ve all given me. Your thoughts have been a huge help, and I’ve been working hard to patch up a ton of bugs based on what you’ve pointed out. The game’s in much better shape now, and that’s thanks to you.

I’m also really excited to say that we’ve hit a massive milestone: 20,000 wishlists! I never thought we’d even get to a quarter of that, and I’m so thankful for every single one of you who’s supported the game. It means more to me than I can put into words, and it keeps me motivated to keep going.

Right now, I’m doing my best to work toward a release date. I don’t have anything set in stone yet, but I’m plugging away at it and eye for something in the next couple-few months. Please stay tuned for more updates as I figure things out, as we're having a bit of a landmine of releases coming this year! I’ll let you know as soon as I have something solid to share.

I’ve also just put out a new update for the game, as the demo is going to be available through the summer now! It’s got some better visuals and a few other tweaks to get ready for some upcoming festivals. I’d love for you to check it out and tell me what you think.

On top of that, Katanaut has popped up in a few cool places lately, including Debug Magazine. Seeing my project in a magazine is honestly a childhood dream come true for me. I’m so grateful for that recognition and still can’t quite believe it happened.

Lately, I'm wrapping up a lot of the left over work necessary for release – I’ve been putting a lot of effort into the lore and story too. I’ve added more cosmic horror elements, which I’m pretty excited about. I hope it’ll be something you all enjoy when you get to see it.

Thanks again for all your support and for sticking with me on this journey. It really means a lot.

Best,
Eugene – Solo Dev
