Mighty adventurers!
[p][/p][p]It has been less than one day since you began you heroic journey through the world of Kromlech, but you already gifted us a lot of precious feedback. So first and foremost, we’d like to thank you, because with your help and insight, we will be able to shape Kromlech into the game we envisioned, your experiences are very valuable for us.
[/p][p]From your initial feedback, we devised a plan to tackle the most pressing issues. In the coming days and weeks, you can expect updates on these aspects:[/p][p][/p]Game file size
[p]We’ve heard you, Kromlech IS chunky in it’s current state. The good news is, we are already working on tweaks (currently the new vegetation pipeline) that should limit the size by approx. 20GB, with more possible slimming down the line.[/p][p][/p]Optimizing the performance
[p]One of the key values of Early Access is getting Kromlech running on a huge variety of systems. It helps us pinpoint the most pressing bottlenecks (currently GPUs) and our tech team is already working on a solution to optimize the performance across the board.[/p][p][/p]Long loading screens
[p]Yes, we hate waiting too. Long loadings are mostly a problem after dying when the entire world reloads again. We decided to change the game rules so death will no longer move you to next day of the cycle. This will result into instant respawn. We are also working on lowering the loading time in other instances (i.e. leaving dungeons…). To utilise the current longer loadings, we are going to prepare gameplay tips for the loading screens so you can learn something useful while you wait![/p][p][/p]Balancing the difficulty
[p]Gwern is a dangerous land with many lethal foes, no question about it! To help you ease into your adventure, we decided to give Cronach a slightly better starting weapon than the cheap shank he brandished until now. We are also tweaking the early encounters, so you hopefully won’t run into a pack of Lurgs during your first steps. There are some more plans to make the game more approachable for newcomers, so stay tuned for further updates.[/p][p][/p]General onboarding
[p]Learning the game basics is key for success and we feel we didn't communicate the intricacies of our combat system and other important systems enough. Therefore, we are going to create a complete tutorial level in which you can try everything out without fear of penalty. [/p][p][/p][p]These are some of the updates and changes you can expect in upcoming days and weeks. The hotfix dealing with early game balancing, death system and tutorial level will be released today.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you all for your ongoing support.
