Banners & Wonders update is very close!

[p]Hello Builders,[/p][p]The release of the Banners & Wonders update is getting very close, and we wanted to take a moment to share what’s coming to the game over the next few weeks.[/p][p]First of all: thank you.
Thank you to everyone who has tested the beta, shared feedback, and continues to help us improve the game.[/p][p]The beta will remain open for a few more weeks, so don’t hesitate to try it and fill in the in-game questionnaire.[/p][p]Thanks to your feedback, we’ve identified several areas for improvement:[/p]
  • [p]District generation[/p]
  • [p]User interface[/p]
  • [p]Codex[/p]
  • [p]Some gameplay systems[/p]
[p]Here’s what’s coming! [/p][p][/p]
STEP 1: More living districts
[p]Right now, when a district is built, it appears fully formed, and then buildings fill it in. It works, but it doesn’t quite feel like a city growing over time.[/p][p]So we’ve defined a new order of appearance to create a better sense of development:[/p]
  • [p]First houses appear[/p]
  • [p]Everyday life elements are added[/p]
  • [p]Parcels are drawn[/p]
  • [p]Fences and separations appear[/p]
  • [p]Roads are created around the district[/p]
[p]A first version is already available in the beta, and we’re continuing to refine the timing.[/p][p][/p][p]Interface improvements[/p][p]During this step — and throughout all others — we’re continuing to improve the interface.[/p][p]With these changes, you’ll now be able to upgrade the level of your production buildings before placing them, and directly see their output based on their level.[/p][p][/p]
STEP 2: Improving negotiations
[p]Several beta testers pointed out that negotiations between factions or between the player and a faction were not clear enough.[/p][p]We’re addressing this by improving several aspects:[/p]
  • [p]You can now accept a proposal directly from a notification window, without interrupting your gameplay if the offer suits you.[/p]
[p]If you want more control:[/p]
  • [p]You can still negotiate to refine the terms[/p]
  • [p]Or favor one faction more strongly[/p]
[p]This will also allow you to gain cultural characters, which are now more useful across different game systems.[/p][p]With this new approach, we’re also revisiting the political systems, improving corruption and faction representation in positions of power,  to make political decisions clearer.[/p][p][/p][p]Walls[/p][p]We’re making the first wall easier to access, and significantly improving the 3D visuals and positioning of walls in the game.[/p][p][/p][p]Simplifying mixed buildings[/p][p]Mixed buildings combine structures from different ages.[/p][p]For example, to build a Basilica in the Middle Ages, you previously needed: A Temple from Antiquity, an unlocked Church from the Middle Ages and then you had to build the Church to continue progressing. [/p][p]Now, simply building the Basilica directly unlocks the next step in the construction tree without needing to build the Church.[/p][p][/p]
STEP 3: Enhancing service buildings
[p]You’ll now be able to upgrade your existing service buildings instead of replacing them at each new age.[/p][p]For example: You can transform your Senate into a medieval political building, instead of building the House of Grievances.[/p][p]
Steam Achievements[/p][p]Achievements are coming with this update.[/p][p]They will be visible soon, but fully available with the final release of Banners & Wonders.[/p][p][/p][p]When is this coming?[/p][p]Very soon![/p][p]We prefer not to give a precise date to keep some flexibility, but these three steps will roll out over the coming weeks.[/p][p][/p][p]During this time, the Banners & Wonders beta will remain open.[/p][p]Don’t hesitate to answer the in-game questionnaire, your feedback helps us a lot.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you all.[/p][p]–[/p][p]The Memoriapolis Team[/p][p]
