v1.7.0.1399 - Controller UPDATE & Feedback from PAX/REZZED

We recently took MetaMorph to PAX East in Boston and Rezzed in London where we got a chance to demo controller support for the first time. The feedback was very positive so we are super excited be in a position to add it to the main game. This is a first pass so there are a few rough edges which we will be working on in the coming weeks. As always we want your feedback.

Thanks to everyone that came to the shows and played MetaMorph. After observing folks playing the demo and talking to them afterwards we have implemented a number of fixes based on that feedback. Thanks also to Grimm for his valuable feedback. We will be adding more of your suggestions soon!

v1.6.0.1375 - 69.1MB - Controller Support 1st Pass & Feedback from PAX/REZZED

Controller Support

This is our first pass at controller support and as such is not feature complete. Here are some notes on controller support for the moment:

- Working/optimized for Xbox 360/XB1 gamepads, Steam Controller and 3rd party controllers with similar layouts
- Not currently compatible with DualShock4 (even with DS4Windows). We'll get to it eventually.
- All heroes attack automatically, targeting the closest enemy in range.
- Targeted skills (Rabbit's 'Jump', Nymph's 'Fire Strike' etc) are a bit fiddly at the moment but we're working on them.
- Settings menus, loadout screen and level map screen still have teething issues and as such are not perfect but do have basic functionality
- In game controls can be viewed in the Settings menu under Controller
- Only one control scheme for now. Others to come in future updates.
- In map screen, use LT/RT to switch between Map screen and Loadout screen. Press Start to open Main Menu.
- Loadout screen shows contextual button prompts for assigning skills and heroes, as well as buying skill points and upgrading.

Tweaks and Fixes

- Added a delay to enemies' reactivating after Ratman cloak skill
- Pots now have a 25% chance of spawning a small gold pile when destroyed
- Fire jets now emit a small fire spurt before igniting

- Improved poison blobs
- New machine gun turret graphics and animation
- New flamethrower animation
- New lava texture
- Increased distance of Butcher's charge
- Picture of hero and skills added to messages
- New enemy spawning effect
- Added a particle to hero and UI when ultimate skill is available
