Build Notes for Version 0.03.01
NOTE: No Sensor is Required. You do
NOT need a biofeedback sensor to play
Nevermind. Without a sensor, the biofeedback-specific features will be unavailable, but the core game itself will be fully functional.
Updates:- New Level: Client #418!
Client #418 can now be accessed once “IntroSim” and “Client #251” have been completed. Let us know what you think of the new level either in the Community Page Discussions or send your thoughts to us directly to team@nevermindgame.com !
- Update: Performance Improvements
We have made many performance improvements to the game overall - especially for the “Low” and “Medium” Render Settings (which can be accessed via the “Options” menu). We will be continuing our optimization efforts throughout the coming weeks.
- Update: Static
We have continued to tune and refine the biofeedback “stress static.” Let us know what you think of its new look!
- Bug fix: Neuromapping Feature
The previous bug in which the Neuromapping Feature was unreliable has been resolved. You can now activate Neuromapping for any completed level from the main level select screen. NOTE: You may experience some bugs with Client #418’s Neuromapping functionality. We expect to have a fix available for this within the week.
- Update: Player Feedback!
We’ve been listening very carefully to your feedback. Improvements based on your thoughts and experiences have been made to art and gameplay throughout the entire game (the changes are too numerous to mention!). Thank you so much for helping to make Nevermind even better!
- General Improvements:
Visual upgrades and general bug fixes have been made throughout the game.
Notes and Disclaimers:- Nevermind is an Early Access game:
Nevermind is still in development and you may experience bugs or performance issues that we will continue to iron out as development continues. All content is still a work-in-progress and additional content will be added in the coming months. If you have feedback, please let us know via the Steam Community Page Discussions.
- Compatibility alert: Temporary 32-Bit Incompatibility
This version of Nevermind only runs on 64-bit systems. We are currently investigating options for making a 32-bit version available in the near future. We will not be officially supporting the 32-bit Nevermind, but will make every effort to maintain a version that is as functionally close to the 64-bit version as possible.
- Bug alert: Client #418 Neuromapping
You may experience some bugs with Client #418’s Neuromapping functionality. For example, certain objects may trigger the incorrect description to unlock. We expect to have a fix available for this within the week.
- Bug alert: Automatic English Subtitles in Client #251
Subtitles might automatically turn on when you enter into Client #251. You can turn them off in the “Sound” menu under “Options.” We will be fixing this bug in an upcoming update.
- Bug alert: Start Screen Font
The text on the start screen does not display the correct font. This will be fixed in the next patch update. (This bug applies only when the game is played in English language mode.)
- Windows 7 Support:
Nevermind is playable on Windows 7, although it is not fully supported. Windows 7 users may experience some instability.
- Mio LINK Users:
Bluetooth connectivity currently works only on Windows 8. At this time, the Mio Link is the only sensor that uses Bluetooth connectivity. To pair a Mio LINK with a Windows 7 machine, please use an ANT+ USB stick.
- Companion App:
To support non-RealSense heart rate devices (e.g. The Mio, Garmin Chest Strap, etc.) on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 environments, Nevermind makes use of a small companion app called the Nevermind Heartrate Companion. This companion application is opened and closed by the game, and can be found as a taskbar icon next to the clock during play. This companion application uses network protocols to communicate with Nevermind. Because of this, the companion app may cause a security warning on Windows and/or some anti-virus software. We assure you this companion app is completely safe, and you can allow it access to the system's network. There are currently no plans or means to support Bluetooth heart rate devices on Windows 7. OS X Bluetooth support is planned for a future Early Access update.
- Companion App Known Issue:
There is a small known issue where the Nevermind Heartrate Companion will sometimes not quit along with Nevermind, due to a failure in network communication between the two applications. If this occurs, you can close the companion application manually by right-clicking on its taskbar icon and selecting "Quit" from the context menu.
- Bug alert: Performance
Performance may be particularly laggy on machines that run closer to our min specs. We will be continuing our ongoing optimization efforts and intend for future builds to run much more smoothly.
- Fear UI:
To see an on-screen indicator of your “fear level,” go into the Options menu and select “Fear UI On.” (Note: option only appears if playing with a supported biofeedback sensor).
- First Person Control Familiarity:
Nevermind uses standard “first person” controls (WASD/arrows and mouse). Familiarity with this control scheme is recommended.
