NOTE: No Sensor is Required. You do
NOT need a biofeedback sensor to play
Nevermind. Without a sensor, the biofeedback-specific features will be unavailable, but the core game itself will be fully playable.
Updates:- New Content: NeuroSpas
The NeuroSpas are areas designed to both help you calm down after a particularly intense Neuroprobing or real world experience and offer guidance on some ways to try to relax.

Notes and Disclaimers:- Flying Mollusk Logo Screen:
The Flying Mollusk logo screen may occasionally linger a little longer than it had before. This rare occurrence has to do with some under the hood stuff that happens at that point in time. While some players may experience this shortly after updating the game, we’ve found that it only happens once and should return to its normal duration afterwards.
- DirectX 9:
If playing on Windows, DirectX 11 is a minimum requirement (this has been the case since launch). In the past, however, the game could render using DirectX 9 with a lower visual quality. However, due to some of our recent upgrades to several underlying systems within Nevermind, including our update to Unity 5.2.2f1, playing with DirectX 9 will yield significant visual abnormalities in certain levels. We hope to return to supporting basic stability for DirectX 9 in the future, but have no workarounds for this issue at this time.
- RealSense Indicator on the Options Screen:
In this update, the Options/Sensor screen will show "No Sensor" until it receives an initial pulse reading (which can take a few moments). Once it does, it will display "RealSense." In a future update, we will ensure that the "RealSense" text is displayed on the Options/Sensor screen from the start if a RealSense device is detected.
- Windows Defender Alert:
Some players have reported receiving a Windows Defender alert when starting Nevermind. This should be a false alarm as we suspect that some of our sensor code is triggering it.
- Mio LINK Users:
Bluetooth connectivity works only on Windows 8, 8.1, and 10. At this time, the Mio Link is the only sensor that uses Bluetooth connectivity. To pair a Mio LINK with a Windows 7 machine, please use an ANT+ USB stick.
- Companion App:
To support non-RealSense heart rate devices (e.g. The Mio, Garmin Chest Strap, etc.) on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, & 10 environments, Nevermind makes use of a small companion app called the Nevermind Heartrate Companion. This companion application is opened and closed by the game, and can be found as a taskbar icon next to the clock during play. This companion application uses network protocols to communicate with Nevermind. Because of this, the companion app may cause a security warning on Windows and/or some anti-virus software. We assure you this companion app is completely safe, and you can allow it access to the system's network. There are currently no plans or means to support Bluetooth heart rate devices on Windows 7.
- Fear UI:
To see an on-screen indicator of your “fear level,” go into the Options menu and select “Fear UI On.” (Note: option only appears if playing with a supported biofeedback sensor).
- First Person Control Familiarity:
Nevermind uses standard “first person” controls (WASD/arrows and mouse). Familiarity with this control scheme is recommended.
