One of the vehicles available for purchase by the player in the game is the WLG-24. This is a production vehicle from the late 60s, which was intended at one time for use by mid-level government officials in some countries.
The car has a long wheelbase, has a gasoline engine, and is characterized by fairly high fuel consumption. The model presented in the game was modified by a local "craftsman" and therefore has excellent acceleration and traction characteristics, but has a low maximum speed and is prone to overheating.
WLG-24 dashboardThe dashboard featured analogue gauges and indicators typical of that time:
- Speedometer
- Odometer (total mileage counter)
- Oil pressure indicator
- Coolant temperature indicator (WATER)
- Fuel level indicator in the tank
- Clock
Always monitor the fuel level and engine temperature. If the engine overheats, the radiator cooling fan will operate to reduce the temperature, but if you continue driving intensively, the coolant may boil. If the water boils out of the radiator, a situation may arise in which the engine will temporarily seize due to overheating and stall. Further movement will be possible only after the engine has cooled to operating temperature.
WLG-24 MaintenanceMaintenance of WLG-24 consists of timely replacement of engine oil and replacement/control of the coolant (WATER) level in the radiator.
Recommended interval for replacement of engine oil is 5000 km.
The need for an oil change can be determined by increased fuel consumption and a change in the color of the exhaust gases from neutral gray to dark black.
All technical fluids can be purchased at your local store.
To replace the oil and water in the radiator, you need to drain the old fluids. The best place for this is an inspection pit in one of the villages or in a garage cooperative.
To drain, simply unscrew the drain plug. No special tool is needed.
To fill the fluids, you need to remove the plugs in the engine compartment and bring the purchased oils or fluids to the plug.
The filling level can be checked in the inspection pit by hovering the cursor over the drain plug.
