Hello supporters! We’re preparing a major demo update coming out this month that will showcase a very unique feature of Relentless: the World Map!

We’ve talked about how we wanted the game to have a “Big World” feel. Most roguelites and metroidvanias we’ve played take place in one target location, whether it be a dungeon, an island, or a cave. That has its own charm, but we’ve always wondered if the roguelite model could be spread over a large area like a continent.

So this is how it will work. From the home base, the player can select what location the ranger should head to next. Each location will have its own randomly generated combat stages, town areas, and NPCs. For those familiar with DnD tabletop roleplaying, each location is like a self contained adventure within a campaign, with the campaign eventually consisting of 20-30 adventures. Items and power ups can of course be carried between adventures. This opens up the possibility of going on side quests for mystical weapons and artifacts in addition to the main storyline.
