UPDATE 2.03 - Doing Great In Rock 'N Roll And Something Comes Up? Save Your Game and Load It All Back Later! + Intense 1,000 Point Close Calls Return!

I've been really busy the past couple of weeks updating Rock 'N Roll with a lot of new stuff, most of it coming from the single negative review I've received and suggestions from fans of this game!

In this patch, the big addition is the ability to save your game progress during the middle of a standard game and reload it back up at your convenience! This was a suggestion made by Steam user Arkabed, and I am thankful to everyone for their feedback and suggestions!

You have four possible game save slots available at any given time now, and the game shows you exactly where they are and what key press is used to activate them when you are ready! Game saves are tied to the F1, F2, F3, and F4 function keys.

TO LOAD A PREVIOUSLY SAVED GAME:

To load a game, you must be on the Main Menu of the game as seen in the screen shot image above. The game will show in the lower left corner what keys have a saved game by highlighting those keys Green in color. When you load a saved game, it will return you back to the Galactic Space Station where you last saved your game and delete that save file. All stats you've earned from the game you left will be restored completely, including points, G.E.O.S. gems, GEOS progression bar progress, lives, spi-rolls, dynamite, as well as 42 other stats that were being tracked towards your final game statistics and rating screen!

TO SAVE A GAME IN PROGRESS:

To save a game, you'll need to make it to the Galactic Upgrade Station to do this, and once there.. it couldn't be easier to do. Simply press the Function key (F1, F2, F3, or F4) you want to save your game to, and presto! Done! The game also highlights what save slots are empty in green and which ones are currently already used in red at the bottom of this screen.

Note that you cannot save a game in more than one slot from a single Upgrade Station visit. If you advance to the Upgrade Station again in the same game, you'd be able to save the game again to a different key if you desire.

Also Note that all game data saves are encrypted save files, so if you think you can just go find the save file and easily give yourself 400,506,405,987 points and a billion Zaxpoleon Dynamite, well.. it won't be quite that easy! ;-)

Also in this update is the return of "Close Calls"!

Now you can really rack up the bonus points for taking the risk and flying dangerously close to death and surviving! 1,000 points are scored for every close call you have and to get the close call bonus points, your ship must be going at a minimum speed of 100 as indicated in the UI at the top left of your screen.

Note that the game records your speed at the 1/60th of a second that you almost end your life, so for example.. if you are flying at a speed of 80 when you nearly hit an asteroid, but then speed up as you make your escape to 200, that will NOT count as a "close call" scoring event. You'll hear the voice scream at you like "Ohhh My!" or "Watch out!" but the scoring is based on your ships speed at the split second you come closest to your death.

I hope you enjoy this update and the ability to save your game if something comes up and you were in the middle of really doing well. No longer will you have to lose your game progress because something comes up, but you will have to make it to the Galactic Upgrade Station to save your game.

If you are playing and doing well in Rock 'N Roll and know something might need your attention soon, saving your game EVERY time you visit the Galactic Space Station might be a wise idea, that way if you do have to go in the middle of the action, at least you'll already have it backed up from the spot of your last Upgrade Station visit. I hope this helps some of you enjoy my game more or get more out of it! :-)

Rock On! Be Happy!
