Public Beta - First Patch Note
Hello everyone,
Thank you for playing R.U.S.E. The community has shown a tremendous interest for our game.We are watching closely what is happening on the beta and we are aware of some issues that affected your game experience.
Yesterday we released a first update, here’s what’s new:
• Matchmaking : in ranked matches, displayed maps will match the number of player. (only 2-players maps for 1vs1 ranked matches for example). However players will be free to host 1v1 matches on 8-players maps for unranked matches.
• Matchmaking : addressed “users blocked” situation on ranked matches when an invited user in the session exits it.
• Fix : Crash and/or incorrect message when using auto-detect menu option.
• Fix : Wrong message when losing network connectivity.
• Fix : Crash when HQ is captured.
• Fix : Improper video display with 4:3 screens.
• Fix : Addressed bridges rendering when viewed from distance on “Above the River” map.
• Improvement : better treatment of connection drop and saved games deletion situations that could have led to crashes.
• Improvement : improved tuning of video options based on video card performance (in Auto-detect option)
• Improvement : freeze & slowdow fix on battleground presentation and on video settings changes (which was resulting in stuttering gameplay for everyone).
As a side effect, all replays done with the previous version are now incompatible with the new version.
What we plan for the next patch :
Some people experienced strong freezes while playing with "waiting for…" message displayed.
These are mostly due to internet bandwidth issues from client side. Therefore, this problem is more frequent in 6-8 players matches.
In order to improve matchmaking experience for everyone, the game will soon feature an autokick function that will moderate performances/bandwidth issues.
A player with too low performances or network bandwidth will receive a warning before being kicked out from the current game.
Of course, we will also try to address known issues.
Have a good time in-game!
