Patch 0.9.1 - 15 new abilities & Mountain Pass



Mountain Pass Biome



The green hills biome has been replaced with the mountain pass biome. We felt that the current green hills biome was too similar to the existing grass lands and plains biomes, and this allows us to make it more unique. Although not entirely finished yet, we'll tighten the look and gameplay mechanics of this new biome further in the future.

Gameplay changes


  • New Enemies: Salamander, Sparkle.
  • Lodestone, Brimstone and Rock crystals have been added to the volcano biome.
  • Added heart pickups to most biomes.
  • Lilypads can be pulled with a fishing rod.
  • Enemies no longer move the same moment you are spotted.
  • Difficulties are renamed to adventure/roguelike/ironman mode and autosave is always on when using ironman.
  • New Relic: Power Glove.


Combat changes


  • Enemies no longer have a chance to block.
  • Relic chest is no longer rewarded for fleeing bosses.
  • Added a combat starter deck to the tutorial.
  • Creatures fall when knocked into a hole in combat.
  • Better AI Plan calculations for movement, mana cost and self-targeting.
  • Stumps no longer drop wood in combat.
  • Can now put out fires on allies using spells with the wet status effect.
  • AoE attacks can now crit all enemies, instead of only the first.

Other changes


  • The Great giant has a couple new abilities.
  • Reflection card can copy the elements of poison/fire fields.
  • Bombs can be used as fuel in Furnace (boom!)
  • Better alert skill and renamed to overwatch.
  • Better status effect sounds
  • Sounds added for Altars, Wanderers joining the party and when enemy loses chase.




UI


  • Added Campaign victory result screen.
  • Added Credits screen.
  • Stars and cards are shown on the minimap.
  • Star progress is shown on hover.
  • Level exit button now pulses when level is completed.
  • Error message is shown when loading a faulty save.
  • Better screen resize calibration.
  • Combat round announcement.
  • Inventory and deck names are shown when opened.
  • Settings buttons are changed so that you can either cancel all changes, or set the current page to default.
  • Name of combat clicked creature is shown beneath it's abilities.
  • Shows current graphical settings when changing resolution or screen mode in the top-left.


Other Visuals


  • Updated Shuffled Sky Icon.
  • Lava/Water flows down into empty spaces.
  • Combat block breaking particles.
  • Better minimap coloring.
  • Rock Toss ability animation has been simplified.
  • Relic chest has a new pickup animation.
  • Better blindness particles.
  • Enemy movement icon updated.
  • Critical hit animation tightened and added a flash on the creature.


Bugfixes


  • Fixed a crash when canceling dragging of a card while casting in combat.
  • Fixed a potential crash when resizing screen in tutorial
  • Fixed a crash that could happen if an enemy that is both poisoned and burning dies.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen if an enemy is killed during its own turn.
  • Fixed a serialization issue where Relic chests could bug out after reloading a save.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when booting the game in Full-screen mode.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when clicking placeholder status effects inside the Encyclopedia.
  • Fixed various issues related to start of combat and extra turn triggers.
  • Fixed a bug where Serenity mana would not refill on skipping turns.
  • Fixed a bug where object spawning, such as those from underwater enemies or the boss chest, could spawn at an unreachable location.
  • Fixed a bug where combat turn would be stuck during a large creature's turn.
  • Fixed a bug where a switch with a weight on top would be unpressed after reloading a save.
  • Fixed a bug where broken pushables could sometimes still be pushed.
  • Fixed a bug where F11 screen toggle changes were not always saved.
  • Fixed various bugs related to picking a resolution in the settings screen.
  • Fixed a bug where the fifth completion star of a level would sometimes not be allocated.
  • Fixed a bug related to frozen and stunned status effects not working as intended.
  • Fixed a bug where Evasion could move through friendly creatures.
  • Fixed a bug where AI's intended chance to use certain abilities was not correctly calculated.
  • Fixed a bug where AI could glitch out when using an ability with 0 charges left.
  • Fixed a bug where Chaos orb relic would also affect allies.
  • Fixed a bug where Victory loot cards wouldn't stack when pressing the 'take all' button.
  • Fixed a visual bug where Party member is incorrectly shown as selectable.
  • Fixed a visual bug where status particles for large enemies would only spawn on one tile.
  • Fixed a visual bug where the incorrect enemy damage is shown if that enemy has the power up status.
  • Fixed a visual bug where a Ledge jump loses uplift when landing in low water.
  • Fixed a visual bug where see-through text could start to flicker.

Hotfix (June 17th):


  • Fixed the spawn rate of large vertical rooms.
  • A workaround was added in the level generation code that randomly spawns a required card, when no room designed for holding such card was found. This workaround will fix the missing pickaxes in the volcano biome.
