Patch 1.0.2 - Happy New Year!



Happy New Year!

The Shuffled Sky demo is now live for over a year! Last year, I completed 1147 bits of work, we reached 500 wishlists, we appeared on Steam NextFest, and we just entered Early Access!



I'm proud of all that, but unfortunately effort alone is not enough. In 2025, development continues while I will have to explore different ways to supplement my savings before they run out. Competition has never been higher, but luckily that also means a ton of good games are coming out!

[*]Fist of Earth (ATTACK + EARTH)
[*]Sentinel (ALERT + DEFENSE)
[*]Spike trap (METAL + EARTH)
[*]Supervise (ALERT + ALERT)
[*]Water Lash (ATTACK + WATER)
[*]Wetwork (MIGHT + WATER)

60 card decks


[*]Increased max deck size from 24 to 60 cards.
[*]Deck UI is slightly larger and will flatten cards to allow up to 60 cards.
[*]Can no longer add keys or tools with the 'unlocked' subtype to your deck. (They don't do anything.)
[*]Updated the deck icon, and the 'lock' icon will be shown for cards added to the deck that will lock after combat.



GAMEPLAY



[*]Added many more large rooms with optional puzzles for most biomes.
[*]Empty chests are pushable and can also be broken with 'Attack' or 'Fire' cards.
[*]Creatures now face each other at the start of combat.
[*]Completion star is still awarded on opening relic chest even when not taking the relic.

[*]Dryad campaign: Added campaign dialogue. Using a card will now often leave an opening from which to enter the newly spawned level.
[*]Removed the random campaign selection option, and increased amount of levels when selecting no campaign.
[*]Level seed relic cards can now be placed on river/mountain tiles. The spawned level also now counts towards campaign progress.
[*]Implemented Affection (pink) mana. Currently only accessible through the 'Gestalt' relic.

[*]'King Slime' boss spawns slimes on empty tiles, and moves after the smaller slimes move.
[*]'Bountiful Flood' ability spawns food on empty tiles.
[*]Water tiles now remove burning and Lava tiles now cause burning.
[*]Now creates a backup save on start of game/tutorial.
[*]You can now save food for later while damaged by holding down a keybind. (Shift key by default)

[*]New Relic: Sol the Frog! Get a pet frog that follows you around and aids you as a bonus party member in combat!



BALANCING



[*]Wanderers now scale in both stats and price when entering later levels.
[*]Exp and coin drops have been rebalanced, greatly reducing amount of coins enemies drop.
[*]Removed coin/exp drops from summons.
[*]Abilities now deal damage first, then do their ability effects second.
[*]Added Auto-balancing to interests based on how many of each interest (chest, wanderer, shop, etc) you have already encountered.
[*]Harmony mana gain from exploration is now tied to exploring rooms, instead of exploring the minimap.
[*]Using 'Fire' on saplings no longer gives wood.
[*]Added card interactions for 'Flint and Steel' where 'Fire' could already be used.



UI IMPROVEMENTS



[*]Secret paths have a new visual indicator.
[*]Console now saves history of multiple commands.
[*]Improved the movement indicators in combat for Ethereal/flying party members.
[*]Potions now show as unusable while at full health.
[*]Status effects on clicked enemies in combat are now inspectable.
[*]Disable skip button during enemy turn.
[*]Cards highlighted as part of a puzzle solution stop highlighting after first use of that card.

[*]Added combat delay to ability effects and status effect gains.
[*]Victory exp/coin counter no longer subtracts for exp/coins being handed out.
[*]Defeated enemies, shown when completing a level, are now tracked inside save file instead of session.
[*]Can now inspect cards in loot UI and mercenary UI.
[*]Added a new Ability preview for when mana is too low for an upgraded ability in combat.
[*]No longer shows minimap icons for treasure inside unrevealed secret rooms.
[*]Added extra delay to when cracked tiles will break while UI is transitioning.
[*]New visuals for combat character selector.



GRAPHICS



[*]Auto scaling of visible tiles up to 1440p resolution, should also improve performance on lower resolution monitors.
[*]Changed the way bushes overlay over ledges.
[*]Better 'Javelin' and 'Scorching Ray' ability particles.
[*]Wisps now fly above blocks, instead of through them.
[*]Improved frog animations.
[*]Better 'Dryad' boss pixel offsets in Combat.



BUG FIXES



[*]Fixed a glitch where falling adjacent to an enemy, using a jumping pad could glitch combat.
[*]Fixed a glitch where standing beneath a balloon and then popping it, would double the items attached to the balloon.
[*]Fixed a glitch where dragged cards could be duplicated by dragging while quick-loading your save.
[*]Fixed a glitch where super-resolutions and large resolution setups could get stuck in a loop where the window screen kept resizing and growing, until presumably it had consumed the entire universe.
[*]Fixed a glitch where if there weren't enough enemies inside a level, it could cover every walkable tile inside a level with slimes.

[*]Fixed a rare crash when falling out of the level using a jump pad near the bottom of the screen.
[*]Fixed a rare crash that could occur when opening the world map in the south-east part of the level.

[*]Fixed a bug where Dryad campaign boss level would not open.
[*]Fixed a bug where the Boss relic chest was empty after a boss fight.
[*]Fixed a bug where an empty chest could be re-opened after quick-load.
[*]Fixed a bug where the spawn rate of 2x2 rooms as part of level generation was lower than intended.

[*]Fixed a bug where a card's subtype that was modified would reset to default upon reloading a save.
[*]Fixed a bug where loading a save that is inside the overworld could skip campaign events.
