Patch 1.5 - Happy new year!
2025 was a great year, but it also flew by so quickly!
Let's reflect back on some of the highlights we achieved in 2025:

The game is really getting smoothed out! With this update, there's a whole bunch of new abilities. Each double basic element combo has a spell now, taunt abilities have been added, and
The Arcanist class specifically should feel great now with new synergies and changes to mana.
Shuffled Sky is still very niche. To be honest, I'm not made for marketing. It makes me feel insecure inside and like I'm a bother to others. That's why it's so important for me to keep improving the game, hoping it would build up that confidence. Yet at the same time, I can't just keep developing like this and hope that things will magically work out. So, this is the year where that ends. I just hope Shuffled Sky will be given a chance… Best of luck in 2026 to us few.

REWORKED RESIST ABILITIES
Resist abilities have been renamed from "Protection from X" to "Shield of X". They have new sound effects and now also resist the opposite element, as well as having some small other benefit. Resisting a specific element, now also grants immunity to associated status effects. This also counts for enemy resistances. For example: Creatures that resist poison spells also can no longer be poisoned.
[*]Shield of Light: Grants resistance to both Light and Dark spells, (+Immunity to blindness, ) and Attackers are blinded.
[*]Shield of Dark: Grants resistance to both Light and Dark spells, (+Immunity to blindness, ) and Attackers are blinded.
[*]Shield of Air: Grants resistance to both Air and Earth spells, as well as ranged skills.
[*]Shield of Earth: Grants resistance to both Air and Earth spells, as well as melee skills.
[*]Shield of Water: Grants resistance to both Water and Fire spells, (+ Immunity to wet and burning, ) and Attackers become wet.
[*]Shield of Fire: Grants resistance to both Water and Fire spells, (+ Immunity to wet and burning, ) and Attackers start burning.
MANA REBALANCING
[*]Mana scaling based on mana type changed from 20-100 to 25-65 (1 star - 5 stars). This mostly nerfs the mana pool of the Wizard, but also slightly increases the mana pool for classes using Altruism (orange) and Serenity (light-blue) mana such as the Priest and Arcanist.
[*]Serenity mana now only loses half when taking damage, instead of losing all mana. (used by the Samurai, Channeler and Arcanist classes)
[*]Serenity mana now fills up to full when using ANY ability that deals no damage or healing, not just by skipping turn.
[*]"Power Up" ability mana cost reduced from 10 to 6.
[*]"Overwatch" ability mana cost reduced from 10 to 5.
[*]"Splash" ability mana cost reduced from 10 to 8.
KEEP ON SHUFFLIN'
[*]The deck icon now changes based on how many cards are inside.
[*]Added a deck shuffling animation and sound effect.
[*]Added a small delay to drawing cards, when the deck is being shuffled.
RATS!
[*]Added rats to the cave biome.
[*]Neutral animals such as rats, rabbits, frogs and birds have been recoded to be collectively referred to as "Critters".
[*]Critters no longer trigger floor cracks.
OTHER GAMEPLAY CHANGES
[*]Added stalagmites to combat in the cave biome.
[*]Saplings and stalagmites will grant cover in combat.
[*]Losing life from strength expiring no longer counts as damage and can no longer kill.
[*]Food now heals whichever character is selected, instead of healing the lowest health hero.
[*]Only one pet relic can now spawn in any given campaign.
[*]Reduced attribute scaling for debuffs.
[*]Added the "Taunted" status effect..
[*]The "Dark Blast" ability now requires DARK + DARK. The new ability "Smoke" will take its place as the new DARK basic ability.
[*]"Smoke" as a main ability, will Blind enemies, making them stop chasing you inside levels.
[*]The "Flash" ability now only blinds enemies.
[*]The "Barrier" ability no longer deals any damage and can no longer be placed on top of enemies.
[*]The "Rage" ability has been renamed to "Frenzy".
DESIGN & UI
[*]An ability preview is now shown for cards that can be added to empty slots.
[*]Your last campaign and difficulty selection is now memorized between sessions.
[*]Freshly unlocked campaigns are automatically selected for your next game.
[*]In the campaign result screen, the minimap is now hidden for missed levels, and the Challenge Plateau is hidden.
[*]Disabled the challenge and encyclopedia button on the title screen while tutorial is enabled.
[*]Changed the default hotkey for opening the Encyclopedia to "H" for new keybinding settings.
[*]The Tablet of Elements can now be viewed at any time, through a new button added to the encyclopedia.
[*]Clarified "Spells" and "Skills" on the Tablet of Elements.
[*]Added an animation for when "Reflect" status triggers.
[*]Added a 1 second delay for animations to play, before combat victory is triggered.
[*]Slightly improved the design of saplings.
[*]Reduced the sound duration of the "Sawblade" ability.
[*]Improved the description of the "Angelic Feather" and "Quicksand" relics to be more accurate.
[*]Improved the "Charge" ability icon.
[*]Increased the speed at which cards are used on your environment, especially when cutting grass with "Attack".
[*]Removed the life and mana bar size increases when hovering over them while dragging a card.
BUGFIXES
[*]Fixed a crash caused by a rare interaction between "Part of the Plan" relic and "Calling Horn" relic.
[*]Fixed a crash caused by an empty mercenary name inside the recruitment UI, if cheat mode was enabled
[*]Fixed a crash caused by using certain console command cheats in combat.
[*]Fixed a visual bug where the resolution size was not recalibrated properly, specifically when re-enabling full screen mode in the settings menu.
[*]Fixed a visual bug where the dialogue box could disappear when resizing the screen.
[*]Fixed a visual bug where resetting the player's profile would not reset already seen dialogue unless the game was restarted.
[*]Fixed a visual bug where Furnace looked like it was off until first interaction.
[*]Fixed a visual bug where the healing amount shown when healing beyond max hp, was too high with regeneration.
[*]Fixed a visual bug where "0" was shown when picking up a healing heart with full health.
