Playtest Build Update #1

Hello, this is the Private Military Manager development team.

We've updated the playtest build and given more people access to play the build.
It would be very helpful if you could play the build and leave us some feedback!


What's Changed?



In the previous announcement, you can see what we've been spending our time on.
For those of you who have been playing the playtest build, here are the major gameplay changes.

  • Weekly Goals: In previous builds, it was difficult for players to tell if they were making the right decisions in the game, or if they were on track with their company and in-game strategy, or if they were having trouble and unable to complete missions. To improve this, players are given weekly goals: If a player doesn't meet enough of their weekly goals, their "Trust" level goes down, and if their "Trust" level goes down enough, they fail the mission. We hope this will help players recognize when they're having trouble and retry the game more quickly.
  • More complex character creation: We've added more modifiers to characters. Modifiers can have a variety of effects on a mercenary's personality, as well as on other mercenaries and the state of the company as a whole. We hope you'll consider modifiers carefully when hiring new mercenaries, and that they can intertwine to create unexpected challenges for players.
  • In-game interactions: We are implementing a feature that will allow players to manually perform some in-game actions that were previously performed automatically, such as throwing grenades and using medkits. We currently have the first prototype of this feature in a build. We hope this will allow players to be more observant in-game and feel like they can make better choices than the AI to solve in-game problems.
  • UI: We're redesigning the entire game's UI again: Currently, the UI looks inconsistent with a mix of pre-renewal and post-renewal UI, and we aim to have a consistent and more usable UI as soon as possible.

  • Player Name: When you start a game, you can now name your player!
  • Experience: Mercenaries can now earn experience through trials and real-world battles.
  • and many other bug fixes
