Soo….. we ended up making way more updates way more often then I was planning on, so some orderly patch note system went out the window.
I'm going to call this patch 0.72, because why not but actually its 12+ patches we have been doing over the past week.
As always, we welcome any and all feedback!
If you want to see us working live, and get a sneak peek on the total map rework I'm doing now, hop over to our discord!
Added functionality:
- Leaderboards are in! We'll record your best high score, the highest wave reached, and the total number of waves completed. Slap those numbers up on a board and compete with the community!
- Health bar now flashes when taking damage. Easily see which of your crew are the most (brain) damaged!
- Score Multiplier! As you get farther into a map, your score potential goes up and up and up! Until you die or move to the next map.
- Click on the character portrait and the radial menu comes up. Wooo! Thanks, @Shawnaroo, for keeping this on our radar.
- Options menu can now be accessed from inside the game! Woooooo exciting!
- Tooltips can now be disabled inside the options menu
- Characters now parry incoming attacks when equipped with a melee weapon. The T5 sword maybe OP.
- The buildable now comes with its own permanently displayed tooltip where it thinks about how to place it and our failures as developers.
- Quirks are now coloured according to their functionality! Green = good, red = bad, black = no effect. Look for the light blue, as it is super mysterious and rare.
- Gary the Decoy's hands now flash with a speed proportional to his health total. The closer he is to a tragic end, the faster they blink.
Added content:
- Cool leaderboard screen where you can see how you stack up against the other SRIS community members.
- Sweet new map! Start your game off on the street corner, where Nick spends most his time these days.
- Weapon stat block now shows in the character bio UI. Look at all the pretty numbers! Don't forget to check the hover over tooltips if you're confused as to what they mean.
- Rework of the "Parked Fighter Squadron" map - now upgraded with death, destruction, and more than a little blood. Pay attention to the details to try to discover the full story!
- Options screen can now be accessed from within the pause menu! Woo, you can change the volume while playing a game!
- You can click the "Search Me" box on slot machines to get your crew searching faster. Same functionality as "Everyone, Search" button.
Balancing changes
- Ramped up difficulty between hours and between maps
- Assault Rifle Turret was nerfed a bit too hard. He has been buffed
- Minigun was also buffed to make sure he's still better to justify his increased cost
- Boss Steve had his hp toned down a bit. He may have been TOO crazy
- The "developer mistake" map was causing too much testing feedback, so it's been pushed back far enough in the rotation that people should get the joke. Or not, some people are oblivious.
- New maps are shunted to front of the list to make sure that testing feedback incorporates our new changes
Bugfixes:
- Slot Machine "Search Me" tooltip stops displaying on its death
- Character health bars now show black for max health that will never come back
- Radial menus will close when a character dies
- Filling your team up with a story event doesn't murder the game anymore
- Bringing up a radial menu will disallow buildings from showing their hp. Mainly useful when your dude is in a Covered Attack Point
- Assault Rifle Tier 3 had a range of 60 instead of 15. Whoopsie poopsie.
- Boss Steve had a bit of an overbite, and could hit people inside Covered Attack Points. That's been fixed, and his attack range has been slightly nerfed.
- Armor was being ignored by weapons that lacked an Armor Penetration stat. This has been corrected, so the Assault Rifle is no longer the king of kings.
- Sometimes crew would stop firing for no apparent reason. Loren believes this to be fixed now, so cross your fingers and legs and everything else.
- Nick is a nerd
