Developer Update
Hello 2025 - and Year of the Snake!
It's the first Developer Update of the new year and we've been back at full development pace on Spellfarers for a little while, having recently welcomed an additional programmer to the Digital Leisure team! So, here's a quick look at where we are and what's in the works next.
Amicable Animations
One of the current major focuses of development continues to be the NPC animation updates. We've been implementing more animations for the townsfolk, updating pathing and routines, and overall making the residents of Wenngrove more lively and expressive. You'll continue to see more gradual improvements and updates as we smooth out the rough edges and add more animations.
Controls and Camera
Full controller support is another thing that will be ready soon, with the addition of an on-screen keyboard and more functionality. This also means better compatibility for Steam Deck players.
We've also been planning out a revamp of the camera system which will reduce clipping, improve dialogue scenes, and overall make the camera much smoother.
…And More
More starting character customization options are also in the works, and we're updating the default player avatar templates for new players to work from to make use of them.
We're approaching a milestone version number in the near future! Thanks for playing, Witches, and we'll be back with another Developer Update with Version 0.600!
