Starless Abyss - Balance Update 1.09



Hi all!

We're back again, and we've got even MORE changes & fixes headed your way, including a bunch of balance changes!

We want to thank you again to everyone who's been leaving us a review and sharing your feedback, it has been extremely helpful to us! Our duo dev team have been working super quickly to address all the feedback and reports we've had coming in, so we're super pleased we're able to bring you fast updates! The team have already put through loads of changes in such a short time, and there's no stopping any time soon!



Here's what you can expect in this one:

  • You can now only have up to 4 factions in your deck. As you make more card selections, the faction pool will be reduced. You will need to start a new run for this to take effect
  • Poisoned shield energy cost reduced to 1
  • Energized laser upgrade damaged increased from 6 > 8 to 6 > 9, with charges increased from 3 to 4
  • Thermal Purge Base cost reduced to 1 energy. It now has reserve keyword. Upgrade changed from -1 energy to Initiative keyword
  • Ricochet card now works on plasma and cannon shots
  • Adjusted stealth missile upgrade
  • Mines base damage buffed from 2 to 3
  • Mine Synthesizer is a now a strategy card that gives two proximity mines every turn
  • Ship upgrade price is reduced from 60 to 25
  • Recon now adds 2 instead of 1 Lock On
  • Flanker now teleports to the far side of the map but also gains double damage
  • Zero max heat increased from 3 to 4
  • Depth 3 will now give bosses extra health instead of minions. We found that enemy's health is too high too early in the game before you have enough damage scaling going on. If you already have an ongoing run with depth 3 enabled, it will automatically replace the previous depth implementation
  • Kinetic stress now applies correct damage per hex moved
  • Occult Magnetism bypassing stealth burnout is no longer possible
  • Rewired Defense doesn't trigger more than the threshold anymore
  • Payload is no longer damaged by events
  • Fixed a bug where Line of sight was not being respected for Cooled Coil & Pinned Hit
  • Fixed a bug in space sale when a second discount wouldn't be triggered
  • Fixed a bug where QuickSilver can't stack Evasion endlessly every time it moves
