Demo Update v.3 | New Enemies and Power
Greeting Pilot,
As Steam Fest is just around the corner, I have been occupied improving various aspects of Starship Scramble, and I am so excited to share with you. We start with new enemies and elites in the game. Particularly from wave 10 onward, one notable addition is Chomper, a robust adversary with high damage and hit points. Dealing with hordes of these enemies can pose a significant thread.
To add an extra layer of excitement to the combat, I've incorporated elites into your regular waves, specifically appearing on waves 4, 7, and 11. These elites range from a pack of pepper hounds to an giant eggplant that provides a shield for the horde. Additionally, I've infused some playful references to the game's inspiration, introducing characters like Gunner Potato and Vampire Garlic. You might find these touch to be quite familiar and enjoyable.
Certainly, with new adversaries, comes new power. I've revamped the weapon system a bit, allowing you to apply piercing and bouncing aspect to any projectile-based weapons. Each adjustment applies these effects to all projectiles. In this demo, you can enhance piercing or bouncing attributes of weapons through premier tune-ups, exclusively available from the gacha machine.
Moreover, artillery weapons have undergone a well-deserved change, enabling them to neglect contact with obstacles such as ore fields or asteroids.
For weapons possessing innate area-of-effect (AOE) attacks, their AOE radius now dynamically scales with the range stats, providing a more adaptable and effective impact.
Additionally, there are up to four new premier tune-ups available, which you can acquire if you hit the jackpot.
There have been alterations to the crews, including the introduction of new sprites and the incorporation of unique crew members.
A Little of Devlog Update
I have done couples of IRL playtesting and have improved the game experience via testers' response, that includes, power generation icon change, animation and effect in build mode and couples more.
I've also been dedicated to localization efforts, and the foundational elements for system localization are now in place. In future update, the game will support four languages, English, Vietnamese, Chinese and Spanish. If you are interested to see you language in the game, please contact me via the discord server.
