In short
More options, more fog, less lag!
List of changes
Options- Added ability to view and tweak all settings via the developer console (alongside the normal menu, of course!).
- All the original graphics settings are now available.
- Extended the SHADOW DETAIL and VIEW RANGE settings to include VERY HIGH and ULTRA values, for extra detail.
- Added a separate setting for shadow visibility range.
- Added a WEATHER setting - this allows you to select between the original, more-sunny SL1 look, or the "cold morning" look of REVision, featuring fog that automatically changes density based on view range selection - challenge yourself with dangerous conditions!
- For reduced fog, and a look as seen in the store page screenshots, added a COLD MORNING ALPHA option.
- FPS limits can now be set via a console command (restart required).
Car colors- Cars now use the same set of 12 colors as in the original game.
- By default, cars/parts are loaded with 4x4 paint resolution, to improve load times/reduce stutters.
- Paint resolution is set up to automatically increase whenever the car/part becomes available to paint or scratch (such as leaving the dealer/catalog).
- Paint resolution scales depending on the size of the part that it's applied to - large parts such as chassis get 512x512, most parts get 256x256, and small parts such as grills and mirrors get 128x128.
For reference, all paint was originally 256x256.
Compared to using a higher resolution everywhere, this auto-scaled approach visibly improves load times (even on powerful machines), notably reduces stutters caused by rendering scratches after taking damage, and improves frametime stability while painting!
Misc- Minor UI fixes.
- Test track minimap no longer gets blurry at lower texture quality settings.
- Various file format optimizations, to improve load times and reduce stutters.
- More efficient use of traffic car resources.
