Information about the upcoming major update of STRIDE

Only for 4 days, from now until September 13, STRIDE will be be on sale with a biggest-ever discount - 30%

This discount was supposed to be timed to coincide with the release of the long-awaited Update 9.0, which should have provided parity with the Quest version of the game in terms of content.

This means that STRIDE will feature:
• completely reworked tutorial, now it's more VR newbie-friendly
• reworked graphics
• improved enemy AI
• improved gunplay
• new interactive elements: openable doors and breakable windows
• melee combat
• achievement system
• skins for the gun, gloves and the hookshot. Skins can be obtained by completing certain achievements and participating in future events.
• improved, more immersive player hands
• 2 new difficulty levels for the Endless Mode: Harmless and Expert
• new sections for the Endless Mode generation pool.
• new enemy type for the Endless Mode: a battle drone. It drops 3 types of mines to stop the player.
• 3 new types of power-ups that may be found at the scenes of battles in both Endless and Arena game modes.

Not to mention a looong list of bug fixes, new settings and gameplay improvements.

This update should have been released yesterday. The build of the game was ready, well tested and polished.

Then we moved to Unreal Engine v4.27, which completely broke the game. Some parts of the code no longer work with SteamVR, and there are now critical bugs that make the game unplayable.

We moved to Unreal Engine v4.27 since we're developing STRIDE for many platforms simultaniously (including PSVR with a new SDK that reqiuires UE v4.27). Due to some mistakes, we can't rollback the game to the previous version.

Our team was trying to fix the issues until 5 o'clock in the morning to release the update as scheduled, but the problem appears to be bigger than we expected. To be honest, we don't know yet how long it may take to fix all the problems caused by the update - days or weeks. This is really frustrating for the team and the players who have been waiting for the update.

Such accidents can neither be foreseen nor prevented, but we will deliver what we promised, no matter what. The 9.0 update will be released as quickly as humanly possible. We will keep you posted on the progress.

We're just as mad as you are, and hope that we can get through this together. And we promise that it will worth it - the 9.0 update improves every aspect of the game, bringing STRIDE to the next level of gameplay, replayablility and immersiveness.
