We're thrilled to announce that Summoners War is turning 10 this year!
We'd like to thank each and every one of you for supporting us for the past 10 years.
We assure you that we'll keep working hard to offer satisfying updates, so please keep supporting us!
To celebrate this special occasion, 10 types of 10th anniversary events are scheduled to go live one by one.
Make sure you stay tuned for them!
For our first update of the year, content QoL updates are underway.
We'll walk you through the details in this Developer's Note!
▶ Addition of the Normal Monster Sealing Feature to the Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine
Summoners War has been around for a long time. This means the number of Monsters has grown as well.
This allowed you to expand your Monster pool, but it came to our attention that the current Monster storage capacity isn't enough to keep up with the constantly growing number of Monsters.
However, simply expanding the Monster storage slots is not an optimal solution.
The current Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine not only stores Monsters, but also saves all the data of equipped Runes/Artifacts on each Monster to allow users to use Monsters in battle. Moreover, the data of all Monsters in the Monster storage are transferred from the server during battles.
Within this system, there are technical difficulties such as high server traffic and high database load to expand the Monster storage.
As for Rune/Artifact slots, we've been expanding the slots and could consider doing this periodically. However, we'd like to maintain the current number of Monster storage slots as they can greatly affect battles in general.
This is where we thought about revamping the Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine to prevent excessive server load and allow you to manage your Monsters with ease.
Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine has been very useful to store Monsters you summoned, but any progressed Monsters could not be stored. We wanted to create another space within the Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine for Summoners who have progressed multiple Monsters.
Therefore, we'll be improving the Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine to allow you to seal Monsters you don't currently need in battles and use them again at appropriate times.
Now, we'll introduce how the Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine will change.
First, the name will be changed from Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine to Sealed Shrine. You can check the new menus as above by tapping the building.
[① Summoned] will function as the previous Summoned Monster Sealed Shrine and [② Normal] will function as the newly added feature called Normal Monster Sealed Shrine.
The features of the Normal Monster Sealed Shrine are as follows.
===================================================
▶ What's the Normal Monster Sealed Shrine?
- Monsters can be stored regardless of their level, star grade, and skill level.
- Monsters equipped with [Runes/Artifacts] cannot be stored. (Can be stored after unequipping them)
: Runes/Artifacts equipped for the World Arena will be removed automatically upon storing the Monster.
- [Transmogs/Transmog Items] will be removed from the Monster automatically upon storing the Monster.
- Monsters stored in the [Normal Monster Sealed Shrine] cannot enter battles and be used as power-up/evolution materials.
- (All Attributes) Homunculus (Attack/Support) cannot be stored.
===================================================
As you can see, you'll be able to store Monsters regardless of their progression status. However, you won't be able to store Monsters equipped with Runes/Artifacts, and/or (All Attributes) Homunculus (Attack/Support).
Unlike the Monster Storage that doesn't allow you to store duplicate Monsters in the same slot, the new Normal Monster Sealed Shrine can store up to 300 duplicate Monsters per Monster.
We've organized the details in the table below for your convenience.
The Normal Monster Sealed Shrine will offer 100 slots as default, and you can expand the slots up to 300.
The expansion cost is as follows.
By storing Monsters you don't need at the moment in the Normal Monster Sealed Shrine, you'll be able to manage the storage space more efficiently.
This way, we expect that it'll become easier for you to manage the Monsters you're using and decide which Monsters to use for your battles.
The purpose of adding the Normal Monster Sealed Shrine is to alleviate the burden of managing a large number of Monsters.
In addition, we improved the current Monster menus to enhance your convenience even further.
Let's dive into the improved Monster menu UI now!
▶ Monster Menu Improvements
- A Monster Storage Switch feature will be added.
Before, you could only manage the Monsters stored in the Monster Storage in certain contexts only through the Rune/Artifact management menu.
With the newly added Monster Storage icon, you'll now be able to manage Monsters and check info such as skill level-ups even when you are in the Monster Storage menu, just like you do in the Monster menu.
By being able to check your Monster list and Monsters stored in the Monster Storage by switching between them, equipping Runes/Artifacts, and awakening them, you'll be able to manage your Monsters very efficiently.
We expect that the Normal Monster Sealed Shrine and Monster menu UI improvements will enhance the overall convenience.
Please be advised the switch button is also available in the World Arena > Monster menu.
- Monster sorting feature will be improved.
The condition search feature of the Monster Storage will now be available in the Monster list menu.
With this, you'll be able to search for your Monsters more efficiently.
Lastly, Rune/Artifact management menus will be improved as well.
Let's get to the details!
▶ Rune/Artifact Management Menus Improvements
As you progress in Summoners War, you get to store more Runes/Artifacts than Monsters.
That's why we not only expanded the Rune/Artifact slots but also continued to perform QoL updates including the addition and improvement of the Rune/Artifact management menu as well as the introduction of the auto sell and Sell Exclusion Settings features.
As the drop rate of Runes and Artifacts increased greatly in the Cairos Dungeon and Rift of Worlds content via the v8.1.4 update, Rune/Artifact management has become more crucial.
We believe we need a feature that would allow you to sell and manage Runes you don't use anymore.
That said, we'll be improving the Rune/Artifact management menus once again.
This is not a one-time update. We'll keep improving the feature to enhance the convenience even more.
- The Sell Exclusion Settings of the Repeat Battle will be added to the Rune/Artifact management menus.
The feature will be added to the Rune/Artifact management pages > sell feature > [① Select All] > [② Sell Exclusion Settings].
When the update goes live, the currently saved Sell Exclusion Settings will be applied, and the items on the Rune/Artifact management pages will be sold based on the same settings you have set in the Repeat Battle.
- A filter option that allows you to only view Ancient grade on the Gem/Grindstone management menus will be added.
By checking the ""Ancient Only"" filter, you can only view Ancient grade on the Gem/Grindstone management menus.
- You can now sell Runes/Artifacts equipped on other Monsters instantly on the Rune/Artifact management menus.
In order to sell Runes/Artifacts equipped on other Monsters on the management menu, you had to [Remove] the item from the Monster first.
Moving forward, we'll be changing that button to [Sell] so that you can sell the item without having to go through multiple steps.
- A menu that directs you to the management page of another Monster via the equipped Rune/Artifact info on the Rune/Artifact management menus will be added.
As we'll be allowing you to sell Runes/Artifacts equipped on a different Monster instantly, we'll also be adding a feature that directs you to the Rune management page of that Monster in case you want to remove the Rune or manage the Monster like now.
You can move to the Rune/Artifact management menus of another Monster by tapping the [① Item Thumbnail] displayed by tapping the Rune/Artifact of another Monster and the [② icon].
That's the end of what we have for you in this update!
We anticipate that the improvements we made will help you manage your Monsters, Runes, and Artifacts better.
The update details we shared today are scheduled to be applied to the game in the next update.
(The Developer's Note is intended to help you understand the upcoming update in advance. As development and testing are still underway, we ask you to understand that the actual update may differ from what we shared in this note.)
We'll come back with more exciting update details in the next Developer's Note.
Thanks!
