Update Notes for 1 Mar 2026

  • Gameplay: Tug Depots now allow purchase of up to three different types of tugs, including the Standard Tug, Light Tug, and Towbarless Tug. This is to make purchasing vehicles at the Tug Depot more strategic as each tug type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Tugs purchased can later be sold (at a price depending on whether the Circular Economy upgrade was purchased). The initial Standard Tug that comes with a new Tug Depot can not be sold.
  • Note that unfortunately some old save games will not reload with tugs purchased previously (as they don’t have a defined type) so some players will need to purchase tugs again. We are sorry for this, but we can not always maintain full backward compatibility when making changes.
  • Gameplay: Added Standard Tugs. These can handle all aircraft sizes but have a slow turnaround time as the towbar takes time to connect and disconnect.
  • Gameplay: Added Light Tugs. These are cheap and the towbar is slightly faster to connect and disconnect, however, they cannot handle large aircraft (Size 2 and above).
  • Gameplay: Added the Towbarless Tug upgrade, which unlocks Towbarless Tugs at the Tug Depot. These handle all aircraft sizes and connect and disconnect quickly, however, they are more expensive.
  • Gameplay: Monorails now require purchase of the Monorail Upgrade before construction. This is to preserve consistency, as the Metro requires an upgrade before construction, and prevent players investing in a monorail too early (the benefit of monorails is expected to be later in the game when there are many transit passengers to handle).
