Fixes & Polish Version 1.0.1+

Launch now being a few days behind us, it looks like the game's release went pretty smoothly overall. That is not to diminish the existence of some specifically nasty game-stopper issues that we are going to address as quickly as possible.

With two days worth of fixes behind us, we want to share with you some very important fixes already now - with more to come. See the change log for this patch below.

A simple quality-of-life change making the peloton target marker larger, it was easy to miss.

New Versions & Branches

At this point we want to establish two "branches" for the game, the default branch which you all are on at the moment, and the open_beta branch, which contains less tested newer builds of the game. Both branches are accessible via the betas tab: right-click the game in your library, properties, betas, select the branch you want to be on.

You can switch between them at any point, but be aware that the open_beta one might have some more bugs. When you find any, let us know! :)

V1.0.1 Fixes & Improvements

This first update is now available on the default branch and it addresses some of the bad crashes and loading issues that some of you were experiencing. Have a look at the following change log to see if your specific problems were addressed:

  • Fixed issue where players using a Cyrillic user path would not be able to load games
  • Fixed game crashing when you selected an empty save slot and attempted to load it
  • Fixed crash when causing the camera to move during loading frames
  • Fixed a softlock in an escapee catchup to peloton action
  • Fixed a softlock when all player riders are in auto-rest mode and the AI performs an attack
  • Fixed a bug where the player would be able to increase funding levels beyond the initial limits
  • Upped the minimum opacity for the finish waypoint marker as it was hard to read
  • Made peloton marker significantly larger and slightly pulsing, was too easy to miss for new players
  • Fixed league tooltips being backwards, pro switched with amateur
  • Fixed Anthony Ward on starting shortlist having too many statpoints, making him respeccable
  • Tweaked leaders to come to the front a bit earlier, especially on easier-finish stages
  • Tweaked season goals targets for first sponsor level to be a bit higher
  • Fixed main menu background for wider than 16:9 screens
  • Fixed positioning of various tutorial markers
  • Fixed amateur vs. pro comparison switch in team details page to not reset when changing rider
  • Updated world map to be the latest version (still WIP)
Upcoming Patches

We're working as quickly as we can to get the game into the most stable state possible as soon as possible, while also adding in some easy improvements and fixes for UI and general quality of life.

By tomorrow we plan to have addressed different variations of the "my rider(s) got a DNF and now the game doesn't let me continue" issue some of you have run into.

Towards the end of the week we should then have yet another patch ready with more general polishing and fixing of the UI and some little AI tweaks as well. We want to merge the patches with the default branch as soon as possible too, so let us know if you encounter any issues on the open_beta branch if you were affected by some of these harder hitting issues.

We really hope you are enjoying the game so far! There is a lot more to come, which we are going to talk about once the riders' bikes no longer are on fire. ;)
Cheers!
