This week we originally had not planned to do a full update of the game / demo, but rather deliver only the final bit of the AI work we've been doing. The latter turned out pretty substantial and that is what we want to share with you in this update. That is instead of doing it in a hotfix last week, as we've mentioned originally. This has given us the time to put lots of fixes we've done along the way into this one too.
Work on the campaign has started as well and we've completed the season checklist, one of the few career hub features that was still missing. It basically acts like your on-the-fly tutorial and reminder of what to do and consider in pre-season or during a season.
A quick video to discuss the additions in the patch and what is to come:
https://youtu.be/1SxpRwAR1EwDemo Update 5 Fixes & Improvements

- Tweaked peloton pacing behavior affecting the last 250 nodes of a stage
- Made escapees go proper hard at the end of a stage to give their all
- Made rest riders smarter to stick with the peloton much more
- Fixed bug where recovery reduction would trigger despite not using max recovery
- Fixed escapees sometimes moving very slowly when low on energy
- Fixed peloton sometimes only wanting to move very short distance

- Fixed velocity node blocking barring player from valid moves
- Fixed riders not properly sprinting at the end of races in some circumstances
With the AI having improved so much, we would like to pose a challenge to you: can you beat Tutorial 8 finishing on top of the podium? Because… we can just barely (with an exploit that needs fixing)! Who can beat Gerhard Seidel? If you somehow manage to do that or come second with a time better than 11.60, let us know and discuss your solution!
The next two weeks we're continuing to work on the career mode and polish up more general things, including some graphics. Demo Update 6 should be ready with the applicable changes then.
Let us know if the AI behaviors are now a little more as you'd expect.
Enjoy!
