Demo Update 9

With this update we're bringing you a general improvements and fixes focusing on UI and gameplay. With release not being that far off in 6 weeks, we're mainly working on polishing up the game and continue eliminating bugs and rough edges in gameplay. Part of that is the new sprint UI, which makes what is happening in the sprints easier to follow and make good decisions on.

The new tutorial 8 is now complete too, with helpful markers and notes as in the other tutorials. We do think it nicely bridges the gap between the other tutorials and the Bootcamp Classic race which previously was tutorial 8.

Demo Update 9 Features & Fixes

  • New improved sprint UI
  • Added info notes / markers for tutorial 8 and tweaked its terrain
  • Added more spectator variations to pool of spectator sprites
  • Tweaked the effects of the recovery stat
  • Reworked the E/t vs. E graph to better illustrate the effects of the recovery mechanics
  • Fixed the game no longer starting up with invalid save files
  • Fixed the race results sometimes being different between in-race and the celebration screen
  • Fixed weird timing and placement issues in sprints
  • Fixed an issue where escapees would just give up when low on energy
  • Fixed issue with peloton ghost target node in specific situation showing up inconsistently
  • Fixed the tooltip for slipstream in detailed resource use preview panel being wrong
  • Fixed "energy refund" UI showing up in intermediate sprints and climbs when it should not
  • Fixed issue where you can use velocity to end up with negative attack points
  • Fixed issue where maximum slipstream was not set correctly after loading a game
  • Fixed parts of the rider creation screen not considering specialization bonuses to E and A

Of course, more than that is going on behind the curtains as we're working on finishing up career mode and adding the third tileset to the game.


The steppe/desert tileset will be used for races in the small kingdom of Dalluha.

There is one more update scheduled, about half-way between now and release. Demo Update 10 will be mostly about more polishing and much needed AI improvements.
