Patch version 0.2.3b (Beta Branch)

This patch includes some bugfixes and balance changes based on player feedback, as well as some polish and system additions for the Act 2 release that we wanted to get added. We are now approaching a version which should be ready for the main branch soon.

Balance Changes/New Content

  • Introductory recon missions are now split into 3 separate missions – one for each midboss, with some different encounters for each. If you've already passed the original intro mission in your save, the game will count this as having already passed all 3
  • Added two new enemy types to stage 2, with a few new battles for them: Soul Master and Mammoth
  • Reworked Spirit Well fight to have more defined and easier to follow phases. The overall general theme is the same.
  • Reworked Zombie enemy to be more challenging. It can revive itself into a weaker form, but its HP has been reduced. It also gains a free turn when its allies are downed, and can counter attack. A few zombie encounters have been changed based on these changes.
  • Improved AI for Cursed husk, so it will use Rekindle and Bone Shield appropriately
  • Improved AI for Ninja husk, so it will attack with shurikens as well as ninja tools, and not spam caltrops
  • Reworked Thorg (Viking) a bit, to solidify his frenzy and crit theme
    • Blood Rage now guarantees critical hits at level 3
    • Battle Cry now restores MP cost at level 2
    • Battle Cry now lasts 5 turns
    • Thunder Hammer now default fight skill, always hits at level 3, Lightning always hits
    • Raider trait now increases damage with more Power instead of HP
    • Throw Axe now refreshes duration on hit at level 3
    • New Berserker trait that modifies Frenzy
  • Reworked a few of Maximus' (Blacksmith) skills
    • Whetstone changed to simply last for 3 turns without the decay effect
    • Vulcan's Hammer relic now gives +10 Power for each SkillType.Buff on the wearer
    • Added Imbue skill, which temporarily grants the powers of Maximus's relics to a target ally
    • Temper skill is now available as an alternate ability
  • Drex's (Cursed) Throw Skull skill now costs HP, instead of MP
  • Rafael's (Sentinel) Infinity Generator passive now also has the MP skill type tag
  • Alacrity Implant relic bonus increased from 0.25x to 0.35x Speed

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Og's (Caveman) Throw Spear Level 2 and 3 not applying correctly
  • Fixed possible crash from Undying distortion
  • Fixed possible crash from Jed's (Pioneer) Bear Trap skill if it killed an enemy at the same time as resetting
  • Fixed crash related to Mirror Image skill
  • Fixed missing battle flavor text for Korr (Sasquatch)
  • Fixed scroll wheel not scrolling skills menu as expected when a hero has more than 8 available skills
  • Fixed animation displaying hero's weapon when using Toss skill through a relic
  • Fixed bug where certain skill underlay effects appeared under map inlays instead of over them
  • Fixed bug where effects were not being applied to heroes properly during tutorial
  • Fixed Act 2 being available when Act 1 was still incomplete
  • Fixed possible infinite loop from Zone D skill on two characters
  • Fixed taunted targets being unable to target a hiding taunter
  • Fixed Incanter enemy being unable to use Dark Shroud skill as intended at higher levels
  • Added a fix for an occasional issue where menu text was offset incorrectly in battle
