[p]Today’s update focuses on clarity, feedback, and timing consistency, with a few meaningful gameplay changes based on player feedback. Also smoothing out performance in preparation for the fast-approaching January early access launch![/p]

New song selection flow
[p]Some players mentioned it wasn’t always clear which difficulty was selected or which button actually started a song. The song flow has been reworked so each step is explicit and easier to follow:[/p][*][p]
Select a song[/p]
[*][p]
Select an instrument[/p]
[*][p]
Select a difficulty[/p]
[*][p]
Perform![/p]
[p]In multiplayer, all players must now lock in their selection before moving on, preventing songs from starting while someone is still deciding.[/p][p][/p]
Improv Mode and play head improvements
[p]Improvements aimed at making playing and improvising feel more responsive and readable:[/p]
- [p]The play head is now smoother, eliminating jitter[/p]
- [p]When you play notes, the play head changes color, giving clearer feedback[/p]
- [p]During Improv Mode, the play head now emits particles, making improvisation feel more energetic and expressive[/p]
Note tail early release penalty (new)
[p]Previously, releasing a sustained note early had no scoring impact beyond seeing the tail continue on screen.[/p][p]Now,
releasing a note early will cause that note to be judged as “Bad.”[/p][p]This makes sustain timing more consistent with how other note timing is scored and better rewards clean holds.[/p][p][/p]
Performance fixes
[p]Under the hood improvements include:[/p]
- [p]Improved overall FPS smoothness[/p]
- [p]Reduced frame times for more consistent performance across systems[/p]
[p]As always, thanks for playing the demo and for the continued feedback. The new song flow and timing changes are especially something I’d love to hear thoughts on.[/p]
