The player party can now appoint a new mayoral candidate for the upcoming elections. (Currently, when the player appoints a new candidate for a province where they have already taken the mayorship, it also changes the mayor. This will be adjusted in the next update to cause trouble for the player)
The reputation of mayoral candidates now influences election results. The mayoral candidate with the highest reputation gets more votes than his/her party would normally get in higher municipal elections, the mayoral candidate with the lowest reputation loses votes for his/her party). But remember, mayoral candidates' fame does not apply to mayoral polls! (This was something that was requested, a lot of people requested that surveys to not give exact results, so I left it that way. If you think surveys should continue to give results very close to elections, please mention it in the comments section of this devlog).
Mayoral candidates now have power along with fame and age. With power, they can be a problem for their party when they leave it.
Fixed bugs that caused more than a dozen games to crash, including sending an alliance proposal to a party with a negative relationship causing the game to crash.
Fixed some localisation typos and made some hints more informative.
Added a developer message that appears when the game is launched for the first time.
The next update will include:
Other parties will also be able to hold rallies, so they too will dynamically gain or lose votes every week!
If the current mayor has very high power and fame, but the player party appoints a new candidate to replace the current mayor, the province may lose votes.
Appointing a candidate of lower power to replace the current mayoral candidate may cause your mayoral candidate to join another party with less fame or power.
The ability to persuade another party's mayoral candidate to join your party.
